If you're looking for a place to experience some outdoor exercise and enjoy some peace and quiet, the Lake Winnisquam Scenic Trail is a great place to visit. The trail follows along parts of Lake Winnisquam and also a railroad track that is still in operation. The path is very wide, allowing for 'traffic' in both directions without a problem. The day we went was a cool, sunny day and there weren't many people there, which was great. The length of the trail is 1.8 miles (one way) and pretty easy to navigate since the few hills are pretty shallow. Just beyond the main parking area is a beach which must get very popular in the summertime. A really pretty place.
