For years we had heard of the HARS Aircraft Museum but never got there. Whilst holidaying at Gerringong we decided to make a visit and glad we did. An amazing display of old planes restored by the dedicated volunteers. Being currently unable to fly overseas because of the Pandemic, it was great to board the 747, sit in the Business Class seats and imagine we were about to fly out to Europe. The two tours were most entertaining and we learned a lot about the old planes. It is a credit to the dedicated volunteers who have restored these aircraft to their former glory. Pity the museum is not promoted more for all to enjoy.

Was visiting Shellharbour and decided to visit the Aviation Museum what a great experience our guide John Davey was so knowledgeable and informative would recommend this to anyone with any type of experience in Aviation.

Volunteer operated light railway working museum founded in 1972, the Museum is opened for train rides from 10am to 4pm on the second Sunday of each month, the museum is also opened on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 2pm for public inspections and tours. Wood fired bbqs and internal parking and also child friendly play areas.
