This was one of the prettiest places I have ever visited. The water is cold and amazingly clear. The views all around are gorgeous. There is a paved highway all around the lake with many places to stop and sightsee. We had a great afternoon flying a kite at a lakeside park.

Largest and most diversified museum in Montana. Kid friendly and interactive displays. The Pioneer Village outside of main building is comprised of 42 original moved in, recreated, and display buildings covering the period of 1890 through the 1960s. Also site of Montana's Outdoor Sculpture Gallery, specializing in whimsical and artistic renderings using mostly discarded and repurposed items.
Almost drove by without stopping. What a mistake that would have been. We only had about an hour but could have stayed much longer. It was a museum unlike we had ever seen because of the variety and uniqueness. The largest collection of “stuff” we have ever seen. From motorcycles to trapper huts to a train! Was lucky enough to meet the owner on our way out to hear about how it was all collected. Fun!

**Not as scenic as Niagara but the dam itself is bigger than Niagara** It’s massive and magnificent to see and imagine how it was built in the 1930s during the Depression. The hike down is steep, but easily walked for all ages. There is a sign warning visitors that bears & mountain lions MAY be seen but unlikely. Worth a visit if dams aren’t something you see regularly in your own neighborhood. Although it’s called Kerr dam you may see signs referring to it as something with a Native name - I didn’t quite catch that part. Depending on when u visit you may or may not see the dams open. Montana has a bit of a dry/fire season July/August.
