Discover The Argyle Theatre, Long Island's newest and largest year-round equity theater. Complete with orchestra pit, balcony, state-of-the-art lighting, sound, rigging systems and a full service bar. The Argyle is a destination for Broadway-caliber musical theater, plays, comedy, and concerts — without ever having to leave Long Island.
We have been season ticket holders since the beginning of Argyle Theater. We appreciated the email of steps Argyle Theater was taking as precautionary measures due to concerns about the coronavirus. Ushers were offering alcohol wipes to all to use in addition to the additional sanitizing steps that the theater was doing before and after the performances. Fortunately since the theater is still in the early stages of growth, there are still sufficient empty seats for use to separate yourself from others. It is fabulous to see the effort that is going into keeping the theater functional as an avenue for all to utilize during this outbreak. As for the performances, each one has been fabulous, directed with such professionalism, and the actors and actresses of well seasoned performers and you can see their experience during the shows. We have just bought our third season pass for the new season of performances and encourage all to do the same. Buy a ticket for Cabaret, which was outstanding Friday night, and ask if you can apply the cost toward the next season performances.

I am a life long Long Islander and have been to about every beach on this island. Gilgo Beach is the absolute best, hands down. Drive in or dock your boat. Clean water and white sand, lifeguards at close intervals that are very helpful and will personally advise you of rip tides and strong undertows throughout the day, which is a plus for those of us with young kids. PERFECT BOOGIE BOARDING AND SURFING BEACH! There is a cabana for beach necessities and to rent umbrellas, boogie boards, surf boards, and chairs as well as purchase souvenirs. The shells on Gilgo Beach are different from any of the surrounding beaches... tiny white & pink perfectly shaped and and work beautifully for crafting! There are plenty of trash receptacles to keep the sand free of refuse. Warm water showers for rinsing off the salt and sand before you get in the car or boat. There is a snack shop with made to order burgers, dogs, chicken, fries, snacks & ice cream as well as a full bar for the adults. Non resident parking is a little expensive at $30 per day, but free before 8 am and after 4 pm. Honestly, it’s worth every penny, as this hidden jewel is not to be missed.

Pretty lake, small playground for children. Pretty view. Nice place to sit and chill with the swans and ducks by the water.

in captree state park there is a fishing pier , you can fish there or just walk the long pier and enjoy the view and the sea breeze thats coming from the ocean , there is long bench's there as you sit and relax for as long as you like,, but if you happen to be there in the late evening when the sun is setting your in for a big treat, as the sun sets the sky starts to glow and nice orange red & yellow colors
