This place is amazing seeming it was formed from a volcanic eruption many years ago and the lake formed in the crater.Lovely quiet walk around the gardens and lake. There is a quaint tea house on the lake for light refreshments snacks and scones,so tranquil, worth a visit. And her sister lake,Lake Eacham is only 20 mins away,so nice to visit that as well.

Cathedral Fig Tree

Reviewed By 837charlesb837

We were on a 'road trip' day as part of our holiday in the wonderful city of Cairns. The fig tree is located off the main road about 5 mins drive. There is a small carpark and plenty of street parking around as it is a quiet country road. Once you arrive there is about a 100m walk through the beautiful bush to the tree. We saw bush turkeys as we made our way to the tree. The tree itself is a sight to behold and definitely not something you see every day! Photos just don't do it justice - you have to see it for yourself. Definitely worth the visit if you are into such unique offerings that nature presents to us!
