More sights at one place can hardly be found in Darmstadt: Hochzeitsturm (Wedding tower), Russian Orthodox Church (Built on Russian soil), Museum Künstlerkolonie (Museum artist colony), surrounded by some pretty Art Nouveau villas ... just rest at one of the nice places and enjoy the atmosphere - a short excursion is worthwhile in any case.

Diversity Under One Roof The Hessisches Landesmuseum Darmstadt The Hessisches Landesmuseum Darmstadt Hessian State Museum is one of Germany’s largest museums, uniting a large number of diverse collections from the fields of art, culture and natural history. This wide range of exhibits lends the HLMD a character that makes it special among Europe’s important museums.
Delightful museum with a large variety of exhibits. It has a cafe which serves a decent range of hot meals and snacks and drinks. We came to see the Messel Pit fossils which were abundant and well displayed.. There were other areas with interesting exhibits of human skulls and skeletons of animals. Nice place to spend the whole day .The Welcome Hotel is close by and is a very nice hotel to stay

Ticked this ground off on a Sunday afternoon - this is a ground that you may be able tie in with a trip to Mainz or Frankfurt, both quick and easy train rides away. This is a traditional stadium with lots of character. Tall floodlights, crap toilets, big open terraces...I loved it! I sat behind the goal in the corner close to the visiting fans and this became an unofficial mixed area due to a number of away supporters getting tickets in this stand. The atmosphere, made even better by an exciting finish to a 3-3 draw, was superb. It's fair trek from the centre. I'd recommend grabbing a wonderful beverage in the brewpub on the markplatz, then catching the tram 9 from there. I did walk back after the game, so it's not too far if you want to stretch the legs. Food and drink can be brought from the outlets inside the ground using cash, which is handy when so many clubs use prepaid cards. Great customer service from the club when I contacted them via the website with a question about tickets - they fixed a blunder that I made when booking seats. Forget the big teams - grab yourself a ticket to see Darmstadt play. Good luck for the season ahead guys!
