After walking around the Farmer's Market (Saturday, 15FEB2020), this place was just right around the corner. We left our car where we had originally parked (plenty of spots & free on the weekends). This place was small but lots of memorabilia. There are 2 workers in there who are available for any ?s. We were the only ones in there & I asked "Jane" lots of ?s. This place was built in 1926 & was originally the Community Center. It became several other entities before becoming the present day Museum. Lots of stuff to read along the perimeter. In the middle, there are changeable displays &, when we were there today, it had lots of memorabilia for African-American History Month. There is no entry fee (donations are welcome but not expected). We spent over an hour in there just chatting w/Jane about different artifacts & news articles in the place. It was just so interesting. It is a charitable organization (a 501(c)) is what Jane told me so any donations would be tax-deductible. The latter part of May is when they have a veteran-related display. I would love to come back & see that some time. The displays (in the center) are changed every month to coincide w/certain calendar events. Their web site is kept up-to-date (so I'm told).
