Kohler Waters Spa

Reviewed By alannasmith142016 - Superior, United States

I visited the Kohler waters spa this past week for a massage, wrap, and pedicure. I was looking forward to a day of relaxation in a peaceful setting, but this spa went way above and beyond that. Every staff member I encountered was kind, helpful, and attentive. My services were fantastic (the wrap especially was so decadent!) and the estheticians who worked with me (Tiffany, Beth, and Emily) were wonderful. The spa itself was so peaceful, with lots of comfortable lounge chairs, refreshments available everywhere, and the sound of water always present. I hope I can return soon and would recommend this spa to anyone!

The Waelderhaus

Situated among the trees on a high bluff overlooking the winding Sheboygan River, The Waelderhaus stands as a tribute to the tradition of Bregenzerwald (forest of Bregenz) Province of Vorarlberg, Austria. This picturesque mountain valley on the western border of Austria was the ancestral homeland of the Kohler family. Located in Kohler, Wisconsin, Waelderhaus, or "a house in the woods," is a tribute to the architecture peculiar to this Alpine area, and stands as a museum of minute detail in the perfect marriage of artistry and superb craftsmanship. The interior is replete with rich carvings, wrought-iron craftsmanship and stained glass. Austrian furniture and tapestries also grace the hall. Kaspar Albrecht, a talented sculptor and architect from Munich, spent two years designing and directing the building of The Waelderhaus. He also created the carvings, woodcuts, reliefs, and iron and pewter work that enhance the building, and personally designed and supervised all phases of decor.

My wife and I have gone by The WAELDERHAUS many times but have never stopped. This time we did and enjoyed a Gingerbread House festival that was going on. Schools from around the area ranging from Pre-school to Grade 12 had made different gingerbread presentations that were Outstanding!! Wonderful!

My girlfriends and I came to Kohler for a "Mom-cation," and were underwhelmed with the dining options available at the resort. I stumbled upon The Blind Horse Winery and took a chance. We all love wine, but I am particularly skeptical when a midwestern location claims to be a "Napa valley experience" - wow! I underestimated this place! Blind Horse did NOT disappoint! The wine was very good, the ambience was incredible, and Jacob was amazing and took such great care of us! Our reservation was at 8:15, and unfortunately the party before us took their sweet time and we were not seated for dinner until over an hour later. This could have been a downside at any other restaurant, especially during Covid. However, we went to their Winery building where there is a BEAUTIFUL space and bar. We all did fights and tastings - their Chardonnay is like Rombauer had a little baby - it was delicious. By the time we were finished, our table in the cellar was ready - which I HIGHLY recommend! It is such a special space, and the story about the history of the property was really beautiful to listen to. The food was OUTSTANDING. Cheers to the chefs! The service, food, ambience, wine .... everything was just amazing. Thank you! If I could give them ten stars, I would. (And I'm picky...)
