Metropolis Performing Arts Centre is a live entertainment and arts education facility located in downtown Arlington Heights, Ill. and has quickly become one of Chicagoland’s leading venues for quality programming. The complex is home to a 350 seat theater. Metropolis offers a diverse array of Chicago’s most talented performers and performance troupes, as well as national acts spanning virtually all performance genres – all under one roof.
Metropolis is a small-scale theater that puts on solid productions at a reasonable price. It is located in dowtown Arlington Heights where theater goers have numerous food and drinking options before and/or after a show. Free parking in the dowtown parking lot adds up to a fun evening.

The theater was updated when Paragon took over, but honestly it was not really needed. Paragon put their stamp on this nice downtown movie theater. Special pricing during the week on first run movies. No more complaining about annoying patrons kicking our seats. I actually now get a chance to see a movie with my hubby, without him complaining. We usually take advantage of selecting from a series of delicious restaurants just a short walking distance away from this fabulous downtown movie theater. Plenty of parking below in the underground parking garage. Never has it been easier to take advantage of "dinner and a movie." Save your appetite for some butter popcorn with various powder toppings and a tall cup of soda with a large selection of flavors to try.

The company slogan -- "read books, meet people" -- is still available on products (pins, mostly), but COVID restrictions are keeping the people safely and sensibly apart. The store's capacity is limited to 30 customers at a time (and to 2 employees behind the registers). As a further precaution, the main entrance has been closed off in order to separate bookstore shoppers from the Mitsuwa Marketplace grocery shoppers. The emergency exit has been transformed into a new, monitored entrance. The signage is excellent and you'll easily see where to stand/wait. And this Japanese bookseller is definitely worth the wait. The product mix includes examples of Japanese culture -- manga and anime; stationery; magazines, toys; etc. As you can see from my earlier reviews (July 26, 2019; August 27, 2018; and August 21, 2015), I really love this store. The newest offering is a curated mystery box of stationery items -- "Mai Do In a Box" -- which is also available as a monthly subscription. I was DELIGHTED with the unique and high-end contents. You can watch online unboxing videos for an inside look. Kinokuniya is a bit on the pricey side, but very much a genuine destination experience.
