Lesbos (/ˈlɛzbɒs/, US: /ˈlɛzboʊs/; Greek: Λέσβος Lesvos, pronounced [ˈlezvos]), sometimes referred to as Mytilene after its capital, is a Greek island located in the northeastern Aegean Sea. It has an area of 1,633 km (631 sq mi) with 320 kilometres (199 miles) of coastline, making it the third largest island in Greece. It is separated from Turkey by the narrow Mytilini Strait and in late Palaeolithic/Mesolithic times was joined to the Anatolian mainland before the end of the last glacial period.

Our dive center is based on the island of Lesvos, in Greece, one of the largest islands in the Aegean, on the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea. We have been operating since 2002 and offer full dive services to both locals and visitors. We operate from Yako II Beach Bar in Petra Beach. You can’t help but look at the beautiful church on the rocks as you approach Petra from road or sea. We made a special visit from Molyvos to climb the steps and visit the pretty church and courtyard. Lovely views from the top. Definitely worth seeking out if in the area.

The healing water in which you will enjoy your bath, begins its way to the surface from deep of 2.500 metres from the bowels of the earth and springs in the temperature of 39.5o C near the locations of hot springs. During its long way through the earth goes through the various rocks that enrich it in valuable subtitues for our health. The hot water as it exactly comes out from the earth, is being driven to the two pools of the bath, with no mixes as its temperature is ideal for the human body. During the classification of the Greek Union of minicipalities and communities for the hot spring, the specific water is characterised as medium-temperature, metalic, unispired and it is advisable for reumatism, neuralgias, arthritics, gynecological problems and chronic outcome of injuries.
This is a lovely spa on a large inlet from the sea. There is an excellent pool and if you desire you can go into the sea. The main area has a bar with snacks and wonderful coffee. You sit either inside or outside and spend as much time as you wish just reading, talking or sunbathing. Excellent massages are also available. The spa is a short drive from Mytilene and well worth the trip.

We caught the little electric train from Petra up to the castle, I should imagine it's a bit of hike up there especially in the hotter months. Fascinating place with a lot of history from its many occupations and the associated architecture and some stunning views. A walk down to the town on the shaded cobbled Street to get a bite to eat and the train back is a great way to finish off your day.
