After a 10 day Traveling adventure with a group through another traveling group, my friend and I opted for a private tour of Rainbow Mountain! Unfortunately it snowed on the day we reserved our tour; however it was one of our most enjoyable days due to the kindness of our guide Richard. He was very informative regarding the history and culture of the area and people. We were able to see some beautiful sites on the way to and home. We met some local folks, stopped by a lovely place to eat Los Cabanas and have coffee. The food was awesome!! Richard took some beautiful photos and was patient with us when we wanted to stop to view some sights/alpacas!! The time with Cusco Holiday Peru Servicios Turisticos was one of our most favorite and memorable!! Thanks for such a wonderful time and adventure!!
This tour takes you to some of the most interesting Inca sites in Cusco. The tour begins with a visit to the colonial city of Maras and its church. From Maras we continue to the nearby Inca site of Moray, a magnificent series of terraced circles on the ground that were once used by the Incas to experiment with crops. Our final destination is the salt mines that have been in operation since pre-Inca times. The water from an underground stream is conducted through basins where it evaporates and leaves crystals of pure salt. With thousands of sparkling white pools that stretch across the valley, the view is breathtaking.

We must meet at 1:00 pm in the Plaza de Armas (we will pick you up at your hotel). After touring the cathedral, we will walk through the streets of the Incas from the Plaza de Armas to Q’oricancha (Temple of the Sun), where we will observe the construction methods of Inca culture and Catholicism. Inside Q’oricancha, you will visit four venues dedicated to different deities (sun, moon, stars and rays). Then we will take a bus to the majestic archaeological site of Sacsayhaman where we will participate in a guided tour. From here, we will take a 10-minute bus ride to the Q’enqo archaeological site, which offers great views of Cusco. Continuing from here, we will take another bus to the archaeological site of Puca Pucara, a small Inca fort.
