One of the least known attractions around Taipa is the Grand Taipa Viewing Platform situated on the western hillside just east of village. From here you have nice landscape views of the Taipa wetlands and village just below as well as sweeping views of the Cotai Strip in the distance. It is a surprisingly good viewpoint when sky conditions are favourable and particularly nice in the evenings when the sun begins to set. To get to the Grand Taipa Viewing Platform, you can take the 45 second ride on the Inclined Elevator from Estrada Gov. Nobre de Carvalho up to the viewing platform. This lift runs from 6am to 8pm daily and is free to use. Otherwise, there is a hillside trail just next to the lift if you prefer some exercise on the way up instead.
