DoubleTree by Hilton Noumea Ilot Maitre Resort

Disappointed by lack of services and very low Hilton Honors status recognition

Reviewed By darkbador

This hotel is great. Great location, Great rooms, Smiling staff. BUT: 1. No dinner buffet (which is supposed to be a must for this hotel) and we were informed when we sat at a table for dinner. Reason being not enough guests (less than 30). 2. A la carte menu was quite poor and the cooked oysters where poorly prepared and presented. 3. No free water bottles supplied (although written announced to promote Hilton membership). 4. Free upgrade (according to availability, obviously, was not prepared. I had to ask and staff has had to call to validate if they could). First time I arrive to a Hilton membership hotel and staff does not welcome me as a Hilton Diamond member§ 5. At check out, staff presented me the bills charging me the 2 rooms at the deluxe price, having "forgotten" the free upgrade which finally they had agreed to give us! Around 15 minutes to correct the bill. it looks that the hotel just reopened with beginners staff! This hotel is under Hilton group since March 2021. Clearly, the staff is lacking of training on how to treat Hilton Honors members. It is a real pity because this hotel has an exceptional location and high quality bungalows. Staff js nice and smiling, which is very pleasant, but one can expect more than that and receive the service we pay for (and not more).

Kuendu Beach Resort

Don't know if I should write this....

We have just come back from an idyllic morning and lunch at Kuendu Beach Resort. What a find. So quiet, sheltered, relaxed and not too far off the beaten track. Sure there were dogs roaming and the place could have done with a good tidy up - but this is the South Pacific! We had lunch at the Resort - magnifique, one of the our most memorable meals in Noumea this time. Will be back Friday for another morning in the sea and lunch at the Resort.

Hot water problems….

Reviewed By brettr_9999

At first all was OK, we checked in at about 3pm and the room was as expected. Later that night around 7-8pm we went to have showers and there was NO hot water at all. I called reception with my broken French and the girl immediately seemed to know what I was on about, almost like they knew this was a problem before… they offered to move us to another room which was beside the road, we had NO choice but to accept this room, and yes it was extremely noisy! I looked online and noticed there were still family and double rooms available for the same night, no clue why they didn’t provide one of these rooms to us given the hot water was their problem not ours. Overall a really disappointing experience I thought Tieti would be a better experience but it wasn’t. Management you need to lift your game and do something better if your customers experience issues in your hotel!
