Five beautiful pet friendly Southern Illinois Shawnee Forest cabins near Garden of the Gods. These Southern Illinois cabins are all sizes and include full kitchens and all essentials, linens, coffee pot, electric fire place, outside fire pit including wood, outside grills (gas and charcoal), full bath with shower, heat and air, screened in porch, satellite TV and wifi. Eagle's Retreat and Deer Run have two bathrooms. Our Garden of the Gods cabins are located in the Shawnee National Forest adjacent to Rim Rock Hiking Trail. Our Shawnee Forest cabins are near Garden of the Gods and Pounds Hollow Lake. These Illinois cabins are near Cave in Rock State Park, Saline County Wildlife area, Glen O Jones Lake, Ohio River, Kentucky Amish Country, Bell Smith Springs and much more. Southern Illinois cabins are pet friendly and have various animals here on our property. We have a private 1.6 Mile hiking trail around our 77 acres and Rim Rock hiking trail is right across the road from the cabins. Hike without ever getting into your car. We are only 1/3 mile from River to River Trail. We are on the American Discovery Trail, the Ohio River Scenic Byway and the Shawnee Scenic Byway. Our Southern Illinois Cabins are in a very private setting on 77 acres surrounded by the Shawnee National Forest. All cabins have large water heaters and either queen beds or comfortable queen sofa loungers as well. We have various animals on our property for our guests to enjoy.

Reviewed By lindahN2915DSMy husband, myself and our Chesapeake dog stayed in Coyote Hollow. Great cabin. Clean and everything you need including hair dryer. Just bring food! I LOVED sitting on the front porch drinking coffee and watching the animals. Close to all attractions. Will be back.

Reviewed By Sheri AWe stayed in the VanFleet cabin for our Anniversary and we absolutely loved the whole experience. We received a text letting us know our cabin was ready for check in. There was a very cute handwritten sign out front welcoming us. It was such a sweet gesture! We will definitely come back again.

Reviewed By 51-19MelThe group stayed from May 3 to the sixth The group stayed at the lodge which accommodated eight people four of us stayed in two cabins.Both were very good. They went out of their way to accommodate us the food was excellent they brought it to the lodge or we could’ve ate there. The golf course was good starting to green up very well for the season. The price was very reasonable for our group I recommend going there.

Double Chalet
Reviewed By RETIRED2222As a family we had a great time here. The weather was perfect which allowed us to be outside on the deck at any hour, and that was great for eating & game night. But, I must say the description for the double chalet sleeping arrangements is deceiving. It says it "sleeps 10 comfortably". The side w/o the kitchen has 1 double bed in a bedroom and then there is an L shaped couch. So for 2 adults, this would not be comfortable. Then the side with the kitchen, again has 1 double bed in a bedroom. The 2 bedroom loft is Not 2 bedrooms at all!!! First of all, there are mattresses laying on the floor, like a sleeping bag. And, there is no door separating the two areas, which, by the way, an adult can NOT stand up, up there! This loft area is meant for children ONLY. Our youngest person was 21, so for those 4 people that had to sleep up there, I can tell you they were Not Comfortable. And that is why they do not get 5 stars.

Birthday disaster
Reviewed By ShanNkidsThe owner was great when making reservations but after they get your money forget a response. Took my spouse here for a quiet birthday. Next to a bar where people are loitering parking was horrible! People at the bar throwing beer bottles and glass breaking! If it was advertised next to a bar and another diagonally across the street. We went out to eat hoping it would due down so maybe we could sleep no music loud rude people no sleeping at all. This was the worst birthday and all we did was argue we did not stay but left at 10pm. I emailed the owner twice with no response. Unless you like to party and don't like to sleep then stay here. Also bring a heater the heater did not work and it was extremely cold. I will never came back to this area it was the worst. Hopefully I am saving someone so they do not make the mistake by staying here. I had to give a one or I would have gave a zero. Very fusturated and still extremely mad Shannon
