Cirencester (/ˈsaɪrənsɛstər/ ( listen), occasionally /ˈsɪstər/ ( listen); see below for more variations) is a market town in east Gloucestershire, England, 93 miles (150 km) west northwest of London. Cirencester lies on the River Churn, a tributary of the River Thames, and is the largest town in the Cotswold District. It is the home of the Royal Agricultural University, the oldest agricultural college in the English-speaking world, founded in 1840. The town's Corinium Museum is well known for its extensive Roman collection. The Roman name for the town was Corinium, which is thought to have been associated with the ancient British tribe of the Dobunni, having the same root word as the River Churn. The earliest known reference to the town was by Ptolemy in AD 150.

The Barn Theatre is a 200 seat theatre launching late 2017 in Cirencester. Aiming to become a major producing house, it hopes to attract the best UK talent.
An amazing interpretation of this Charles Dickens classic. The creative team have outdone themselves with this version. The Cast were perfect, they wove an intriguing tale of Christmas past, present and future. The Stage Management Team ensuring everything ran perfectly to plan it was just magic in motion. Thank you, one and all. A fabulous night out in a great venue. Another hit for the Barn Theatre.

Had a wonderful time at the Marlborough pub last evening. Many great ales on tap. Served up by Meg the friendly bartender and Ally the welcoming host. Ally had me pull him a pint of beer which was very entertaining.

Built in the 1770s to cater for the workers on the Severn-Thames Canal and serving countless generations since, the Tunnel House Inn is an enchanting place to come and relax amongst friends. We pride ourselves on providing delicious, fresh-cooked food in relaxed surroundings.
Visited with a group of friends and their children. The staff were highly accommodating and attentive giving us a large table in a cosy room near to the bar. The pub is set in a great location surrounded by fields and an old disused canal. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see the canal or the tunnel as the weather wasn’t permitting. The Sunday roast was great with a lovely vegetarian option and they had a fantastic selection of real ales. It wasn’t overpriced and I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.
