Uglesaetra at Dimnoya

A trip to the family friendly Uglesaetra at Dimnoya can be started from several locations. Large parking area at the Hasundgot sports ground at Gjerdsbakkane. Hiking maps can be purchased at the Ulstein Tourist Information.

Hogasen

The highest point on Dimnoya, with a view of the town Ulsteinvik, Hasund/Garshol, Botnavika, the island area between Hareidlandet and Gurskoya. Access: 4 – 5 alternatives, partly woods and partly moor. From Kleiva, asen, Gjerdsbakkane or the inner Dimna. Time return trip: 1 – 3 hours. Blatinden

Blatinden is the highest peak on the island Hareidlandet, comprising the two municipalities of Hareid and Ulstein, reaching the height of 697 metres. There are several alternative routes to the top, for instance from Haddal and Gjerde, and the trip is easily combined with the peak Kongsvollen, 683 metres above sea level. The views from the top of Blatinden include among others Vartdalsfjorden, orstafjorden, and the islands between Hareidlandet and Gurskoy.

From Hasundhornet – Garnestua (533/654 masl), you have a beautiful view of Hareidseidet, Haddal, the isles between Hareidlandet and Gurskoya as well as the isles in Ytre Heroy. The main way to get there is from the north. Limited parking at Hammarstoylen. Open mountain terrain. Family friendly trip to the Hasundhornet, estimated time return trip 1 – 1,5 hours. From the east: parking at Loset. Return time to Garnestua approximately 3 hours. Hiking maps can be purchased at the Ulstein Tourist Information.
