This park in Lake Jackson is beautiful. It’s well maintained. The walking tails are more than expected. Nice pavilion with plenty of tables and a stage. Sports fields. Playground. Perfect place for a family stop or a walk/hike/run.

We went to the bird observatory just to check it out. We ended up staying for 2 hours and returning the next day. It is a small but well maintained area that offers many opportunities to see several different species. We got there a little early for the big migration but still saw many wonderful birds. Sit on the blind near the pond for some great viewing.

This trail through bottomland forest not only contains the county champion Cottonwood Tree. The paved trail takes you near a Texas Forestiera (understory multi-trunked wetland trees) swamp. Look for spring and fall migrating birds here, also. Wood ducks can be seen/heard in the swamp. Wear closed-toed shoes, water, and have insect repellent if you find need for it.

I took my two out-of-town granddaughters (ages 8 and 7) along with my sister, taking two of her grandchildren to Urban Air and they all loved it. A great way for all the kids to spend some time playing together in an inside air-conditioned setting. My sister somehow brought the Ultimate Pass tickets online for $18 which included a slice of pizza, a drink for lunch, and a snack later in the afternoon. I choose to only watch and did not participate in any of the activities, but for only $5.99 I could have gotten an adult pass and played with the kids. I was impressed by how many things there are to do - something fun for everyone. My older granddaughter loved riding the zip-line. I was also impressed with the number of staff members they had supervising the safety of the activities. Although most were teenagers, they were friendly and careful with making sure the harnesses were attached correctly. The kids had a great time and when they come back to visit, I will bring them here again.
