Dubois Town Park

Reviewed By dudegal - Dubois, United States

The charming and well-kept Town Park in Dubois is adjacent to two major attractions, the Bighorn Sheep Center and the Dubois Museum. It contains tree-shaded picnic areas, a very tiny riverside beach suitable for toddlers to paddle in, and a paved river walk that extends on both sides of the lovely Wind River. Follow the riverwalk to the west end of the park to find the footbridge that will take you to the other side of the river, where it passes alongside a large field of native sagebrush and grass. The Superfoods supermarket is almost directly across the highway, so it's a terrific place to stop for a picnic en route. Don't miss the Scenic Overlook just slightly to the west and across the highway. You can drive a steep dirt road to the top for an extraordinary birds' eye view of the entire landscape, from the badlands to the west to the tree-covered mountains on the way to Jackson and Yellowstone.
