Fort Lauderdale’s canals and charm have earned it the nickname “The Venice of America.” The beaches offer 23 miles of golden sand, lively with the spirited antics of happy vacationers. Sail the blue-green waters on a chartered catamaran, or dive beneath the surface to meet-and-greet the local sea life. Shopping and dining al fresco on Las Olas Boulevard is one of Fort Lauderdale’s greatest pleasures, thanks to adorable shops and prime people-watching.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale. There is lots of interest to see and experience with the Everglades Tour, Mars Rover and lots more. It is a venue not to be missed.

I have been coming to the Gateway Theatre since back in the days when we would come up from Miami Beach to spend a day in the country! Fort Lauderdale is no longer a country town and The Classic Gateway Theatre has been a big part of that growth. They were one of the first theatres to show 'art' films meaning foreign films, gay films, director films and now that it has been remodeled into 4 auditoriums you will find a documentary in one, a Marvel film in another, an independent film in the third and an animated film in the fourth. The staff from George the owner to Pam in charge of the concession stand plus Ray the manager and all the others do their best to make movie going worth more then the price of a ticket. Be sure to get their reward card and, oh yes, have a lot of fun reading the comment board in the lobby before you add your own!

Came to see the latest film. It is a comfortable cinema with friendly staff. We enjoyed the reclining seats and food service.

This Regal has a wide variety of movies showing on their 16 screens. The cashier was pleasant and the staff were all smiling. It being a Friday early afternoon the staff has been cut a bit because it is a slow time but a customer would never know it. The stadium seating is great, the theatre clean, the sound and projection excellent. One problem we had (and I love a/c) was that the auditorium was too cold and when I told one of the employees it was taken care of by the time I got back to my seat. The other two problems are common to all movie houses with the first being having to sit through way too many previews with--this is new--ads in between them! The other problem is announcing a starting time say at 1 PM when the actual movie starts at 1:15 PM. Last, but not least, the movie was lousy! We should have had a hint when we were the only two making up the audience! Plenty of parking available and many restaurants in all price ranges for before or after the show.
