Mt. Iide Located in the western part of Bandai-Asahi National park, Mt. Iide is referred to as a sacred mountain and the top is covered with snow all the year round. 2,105m in height above sea level, it is one of the 100 top(famous) mountain in Japan. In summer, quite a few people try reaching the top of the mountain to wish for their good luck and abundant harvest at the shrine there, which beginners at mountaineering find it so difficult.
