Perhaps the most important things to say about Phinda Vlei is that the staff have been expertly chosen. Dumi and Sabelo, our guide and tracker, stood out most of all. Dumi has been working for some 31 years in the industry, and has been with &Beyond since it’s founding, and this base of knowledge improved the overall experience for us time and time again. Happiness, the chef, another long time &Beyonder, took time with us to have refreshingly candid conversations about life in general all the while creating a personalized vegetarian meal for us 3 times a day. Housekeeping was twice daily and faultless. I really could not have realistically expected as much from the group at Vlei as they delivered. On top of all of this, the game viewing was out of this world! Thanks Vlei!

We had the most fabulous three day stay as a family. AndBeyond gets the bush experience right better than anyone else. Everything was plainly perfect. The lodge and accommodation is fantastic, the staff professional while friendly and personal, the bush experience brilliant. Phinda as a reserve pleasantly surprised us, the biodiversity and richness of animals is superb. Clive was our guide and I’ll say he’s the best guide I’ve seen in a lifetime of experiencing African bush and birding guides. Incredibly knowledgable coupled with a very engaging personality, he made the trip unforgettable. We stayed in a family suite (25) and it’s just perfect. A wonderful place with wonderful staff.

We went to Phinda - a rare dune forest in world terms - on a company breakaway. The food was great, the wildlife was superb and the accommodation was very comfortable. But what stood out was the people. Everybody was SUPER helpful, friendly and fun; and the expertise of our ranger CHRIS and tracker NTSIKA was astounding. Highly recommended

This is a beautiful luxury game lodge in Phinda! Huge comfortable suites that were also so warm and inviting and cozy and private! I loved relaxing on my own private deck with pool just listening to the sounds of nature. The staff works so hard to meet the needs of every guest. Berlize the young hotel manage went out of her way to accommodate the somewhat unique requests my BFF and I had. Grant, our safari ranger was as movie star handsome as they come but more importantly his knowledge and expertise in leading a game drive was so educational and fun. Suphiso.. I am sure I spelled his name wrong..was our tracker and has the eyes of an eagle and was a joy to be with!! All the staff was extraordinary...Phinda Lodge and the game drives are just the best!!

We spent our very first safari ever in the Zuka Lodge in Phinda and had an indescribably great time. The small lodge in the Game Reserve has 4 cabins and we were lucky to be the only guests. The whole lodge is beautifully designed and the extremely friendly and cordial staff welcomed us again and again. There is a very familiar atmosphere. Our guide Dewald and our tracker Musa showed us on the safaris the most different animals and we could learn a lot from them. We were also fascinated by your repeated enthusiasm for the animals. We will gladly come back again. Many thanks to the whole team, which really does a great job with all its heart and soul.
