In all my years of travel professionally and personally, I HAVE NEVER had an experience like driving up to this Comfort Inn on Silas Deane Hwy, Hartford CT. It was pouring rain and the covered entry area was blocked with a car with it's hood up being repaired. BY several "residents! There was no upgrade to the room I was sent to since the 1970's, it would appear, and the stench of cigarette smoke permeated from the carpet and walls. The lobby was filled with residents who were smoking and hanging around. There were other unpleasant smells as well! I immediately went to work on securing another hotel room for the weekend. A commotion ensued whereby the police were called to the sight. There was no use of the pool or restaurant as advertised. NOT THAT ONE WOULD utilize those facilities. I WAS OUT OF THERE IN 20 MINUTES so extremely stressed and disgusted. . MY RATING IS A NEGATIVE 5 . The field won't allow a rating less than 1 AND ONE CAN'T MOVE ON without making that minimum of 1 (terrible) in the rating field. Scary, unsanitary, unpleasant, disgusting, horrible!

Built in 1873 by Silas Robbins, the House is a sophisticated and elegant representation of the Second Empire design. The House is listed on the National Registry. It is located in the oldest community and in the largest historic district of Connecticut; a treasure of a home, brought back to its previous grandeur. It is magnificently restored to its original splendor and upgraded with all the amenities including air conditioning. Enjoy the Victorian charm of the House while we enchant you with our hospitality! Visit us in historic Old Wethersfield, CT, overlooking the scenic Broad Street Green.
My husband and I had a fabulous experience at the Silas Robbins house. First, the house itself is gorgeous and the amount of work that went into this place is astonishing. Immaculate, beautiful decor, great attention to detail. And yet, it managed to feel comfortable. Our host was also fantastic. Welcoming and friendly, excellent service. Breakfast was delicious -fruit, omelette and bacon and pancakes! Complimentary tea, coffee (keurig) snacks and soft drinks were also available all day. We spent one night in the Elizabeth room which was on the third floor. Room itself was small but comfortable; however, it opens into an enormous ballroom and we had the whole floor to ourselves! I just can't say enough good things about this property and the owners. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I would highly recommend a stay.

Do not waste your time. The room was absolutely filthy, hair left in the shower, sticky floors, burns all over the sink and mirror, and about 20 burns in the sheets. When we took the comforter off not only did it look filthy, but there was a stink bug attached to the underside, so we threw the whole comforter in the corner. Checked the mattress, and sure enough bed bugs were crawling all in the seams. I almost puked. The lady at the front was extremely rude telling us the room was fine and flat out refused to refund us our money. There was nothing we could do since upon arrival she insisted, again rudely, we pay in cash. That was sort of weird, and should have been a tip off from the start. As we were leaving she was arguing with another couple about a refund. Ended up sleeping in the car that night. Absolutely the worst motel I have ever been in in my life.
