We had the pleasure of staying in Borgo Storico Cisterna this summer for a week. The family run hotel was terrific. The region is charming and the house is up a cute winding road on a small mountain. We were greeted warmly by 2 of the owners’ children and they helped us in getting our room and telling us a bit about the location right away. The rooms were cool, very clean and we loved the antique feel of the bedroom. We then met the husband, Mario, who throughout the whole week, provided us with great advice on what to see in the area along with lots of interesting information and facts about the history of those areas too. The wife, Stefania, was a great chef and gave us all sorts of tips and secrets about Italian cooking. It was great. We could not have had a better stay! Not only did we have a great time, but I like to think we also had fun meeting such a nice family!

The Spa Hotel Alessandra Gonzaga spa is a beautiful new facility right in front of the spa Thermae Pitinum, born from the restoration of the convent of Santa Chiara in 1539. This 4 star hotel has a lot of details, the proposed rooms are spacious and equipped with all the amenities: hardwood flooring and heating, wireless internet, TV, air conditioning, safe, minibar. part of the hotel is the wellness center, with free access for guests, where you can enjoy the sauna, turkish bath, emotional shower and tub with jets of water. And finally: the room of the rooms, massage and beauty treatments of all kinds.
Please note that the previous reviews are at least a couple of years old. We stayed here a few years ago when the hotel was new. While not a world class hotel it was clean, new and well cared for. We just booked for several days and found it to be awful in every way. Evidently the hotel had been closed for a while and then sold. It opened again very recently. Clearly, very little effort was made to clean the rooms, the air conditioning was in bad shape and caused us both to become ill. We arrived at almost 5PM and our room had not yet been made up. When it was, pillowcase covers were not on the pillowcases. The next day the bathroom was not cleaned. The bed linens were old and likely the same ones from before it had been sold. The breakfast was acceptable. We were supposed to to stay five days and left after three because we could no longer breathe in the room. They had no pride and charged us for the entire stay we had booked. (Not because they would have lost a reservation - the hotel was empty.) If you must stay in that area find a neighboring town to stay in.

It's a 3 star hotel in a small village so we didn't expect a lot but it surprised us. The rooms are a bit old but better than other 3 star hotels in italy so far, its clean and they bring you whatever you may need. The food was amazing and the menu gives you a lot of choices. The stuff was so polite and helpful, we came here by "accident" and we had an amazing Italian experience!
