We booked a table in the Gallops Restaurant for dinner on Wednesday 8 June 2022. We arrived and were seated promptly. Our starters n drinks arrived without issue. However the meal went rapidly downhill from here. We had to ask twice for water n seek out a server to take a drinks order. He had to write it down as he could not remember 3 drinks n water. Our main course was not served to us until about 40 mins after our starters were cleared. One steak was fine, one overdone, duck which should have been served rare was med to well. Veg served with chicken was cold n underdone and potatoes were not fresh. We did receive an apology for the delay from the server. Our mains were cleared n after another 30 min wait my husband had to look for a server as still no sign of our desserts. 2 were fine, one was inedible. When we were leaving we were asked if everything was OK. My husband replied no & outlined the above. He received a sorry about that apology, nothing more. We paid full price of €150.40 for a poor meal with appalling service. Apparently a chef phoned in sick n they weren't expecting the rush. My husband replied that we were as we had booked. No offer of a manager to speak with us, comp. a round of drinks. NOTHING. At no time did there appear to be a manager or supervisor in the restaurant. It was not packed from what we could see. In our area there were 4 other tables of 2 and our table of 4- all staggered, hardly a rush. Up until this meal we have had good food but service can be hit and miss. WHAT.A.DISASTER. Joan Mason previously regular customer. Contact details on your system.

The bed was comfortable. The water was hot. End of compliments....Bath took a half hour to fill. Shower was blocked and nearly overflowed. Mould on the window. When i stripped the bed before leaving as I always do ,we found the duvet was stained with pee or god knows what. Bed slats broken. Dirt under the bed behind the door. Light switch not screwed in. Wallpaper peeling off. This place needs shutting down. No bowls for ceral. Complete maintenance makeover needed and a decent cleaner. From the images on booking site it appears you are staying in a lodge. YOU ARE NOT. It is an old house split into 3. We stayed in the one bedroom part.
