We were on a hike and got lost. We saw many signs along the way promoting the Cookie Monster Cafe and The Stepping Stone B&B so we turned back and headed toward it. The owner came out rude off the start. The signs say it’s for residents only (so why all of the signs along the Kerry Way promoting the cafe?) He was a monster all right. We had no service on our phones and didn’t know where we were. We asked if we could use the WiFi to contact our husbands to pick us up and the owner said NO! What kind of person doesn’t help people in obvious need? It was a disgraceful display of rudeness and very shameful indeed. Not the Irish way, not what the Kerry Way should be about. This man should be banned from promoting this place and he should not be in this line of business whatsoever. He was mean, he was rude and he is a miserable old git. I’ve never experienced anything like him or his attitude and mean spirit in all of Ireland. Stay away from The Cookie Monster Cafe and The Stepping Stone B&B!

My wife and I were on a cycling tour, on our own and with panniers. We were cycling the Ring of Kerry, but also wanted to see the quieter roads and interior of the peninsula. This small lodge is a gem. It sits on a beautiful river, with lovely views from all rooms. Because we could not bike to a restaurant, we asked Breda if she could accommodate us by providing dinner. No problem. Shortly before our trip she emailed asking whether we had any dietary restrictions. We told her we were interested in traditional Irish dishes and, sure enough, she cooked a delicious Irish stew (and apple pie!), accompanied by a great Spanish wine. We arrived too early for check-in but, rather than make us wait, Breda cooked us a nice lunch. The Irish breakfast may have been the best we have had. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. A lovely sheep dog, Leslie, followed us everywhere. It was like being invited into and old friend’s home.

Stayed in the climbers Inn as had travelled down to hike the Coomloughra Horseshoe. You receive a true Irish welcome and nothing is too much trouble for the ladies who look after you. Food was fab and very quickly served. Rooms were very nicely decorated and clean. Bathroom was clean and the shower was amazing, great pressure and unlimited hot water. Tv in the room and adequate place for clothing. Would most definitely stay here again.

My daughter and I stayed here while walking the Kerry Way. We felt well cared for. We arrived late, soaking wet, and so tired after walking more than 32 kilometers. Michael and Joann's daughter picked us up and brought us back to the B&B. We were warmly greeted, shown to the drying room to get out of our wet things and then shown to our rooms to get cleaned up while Michael prepared a truly delicious salmon dinner for us. Our room was simple but had everything we needed and we are really glad we experienced Michael and Joann's hospitality.

Kingdom View B&B is situated on the Glencar road near the Gap of Dunloe. Kingdom View is on the inner Ring of Kerry beneath Ireland's highest Mountains (the McGillycuddy Reeks & Carrauntuohill) and over looks spectacular countryside.
Such a great treat to have a B&B tucked in under the mountains, but with a front yard view of the whole valley! the name, Kingdom View really says it all! Eileen was a wonderful host and had marvelous recommendations of hiking trails in the area, key spots to see along the Rink of Kerry, and local restaurants! We loved the music, energy, and food of Kate Kearney's! This was a high light of our stay! Breakfast was wonderful each morning (we stayed 2 nights) and the family ensuite was perfect for us and our two children. We look forward to returning again to hike the trails soon. Thank you Kingdom View for a memorable stay.
