Supremely unfriendly, Iindifferent staff lacking the basics of customer service. They didn't show the slightest interest in helping or offered even basic info about the region. I wrote to them before my stay about the possibility of vegetarian food. They didn't even have the courtesy to reply. Strange interior design in the bedroom, trying to be trendy but failing, appalling waste of water in the bathroom as the bath tap and shower work together!!! No sound proofing - I could actually hear what the people next door were saying!! I asked for a double bed but was given 2 singles with neither apology or explanation. The steps down to the terrace were in bad condition, not good for people with children or the elderly. Lots of noise from people drinking on the terrace.

The village is easy to find, just a few minutes from the highway (mmm... country road). The hotel really looks from the outside like it is a thousand years old (may be close to it) but on the inside it does have virtually all modern comforts. We had a great room with incomparable view, and as we arrived a bit late in the evening we thought we could probably negotiate the rate, as not many people would probably still turn that way at that time. the owner/operator was aghast at our audacity and stuck to the rate he had given us when we first asked. (we dropped in without reservation, so we though maybe he drop the usual booking commission). In the end effect, the Hotel was worth every penny we paid for, fantastic room, fantastic food and the village itself it one of those typical medieval secrets tucked away all over Spain, if you only knew where to find them

We arrived at the hotel at the beginning of the village as instructed and David led us up to our hotel at the top end of the village. We parked the car and then walked the few yards to this beautiful old building. In through the very very old door and what a surprise inside. Just look at the video on the website. It really is a treat, all beautifully renovated in the old style of many years ago, one of the most beautiful hotels we have stayed in. Our room was not large but had dual aspect windows over the valley and the castle. An adequate modern bathroom, all very clean. We watched the swallows dipping and diving over the valley for ages. The meal at the hotel was a little disappointing, not much selection on the menu but that was the only slight negative of the whole stay. It is a delight to wander around the cobbled streets of the old village which is high up and has some stunning views over the plains from the top. We would love to return one day.

We spent a night on a room for couples, and it was a great choice. The village is beautiful, it still keeps the old village aspect, and is also elevated, so you have magnificient views of the surroundings (we spent like half an hour just watching the sun set from the old castle esplanade in absolute silence, totally recommended!). The house is also an old building, it almost looks like a castle from the inside, but our room was big and cozy, and with good wi-fi signal. It was also clean and quiet. Breakfast was included.
