Located near to the town's central car park, this small museum and visitor centre is well worth a short amount of your time. While the information and exhibits may be what you would expect from this type of resource, it is the staff and volunteers who make calling in worthwhile. This is a dog-friendly stop.

The poet's former home is now a museum dedicated to his life and work.
Beautiful place on the coast 12 miles from Carmarthen . A must for all fans of Welsh literary genius Dylan Thomas. The boathouse is a fantastic tribute to the man full of pictures memorabilia and handwritten letters from Dylan there is also a fantastic documentary about his life. The boathouse and writing shed are a short walk from the stunning castle. His grave iis in St Martins Church as you enter the town and you must visit Browns Hotel Dylan’s favourite pub

Parc Howard Museum is a majestic Bath stone villa surrounded by beautiful gardens. Its displays tell the fascinating story of a remarkable town, its people, character and events. It is also home to the largest public collection of Llanelli Pottery and works of art by and of Llanelli subjects. Fila urddasol o gerrig nadd yw Amgueddfa Parc Howard gyda gerddi prydferth o'i chwmpas. Mae'r arddangosfeydd a geir yno yn adrodd stori tref ryfeddol, ei phobl, ei chymeriadau a'r hyn a ddigwyddodd yno. Mae'r amgueddfa hefyd yn gartref i'r casgliad cyhoeddus mwyaf o grochenwaith Llanelli a gweithiau celf gan arlunwyr lleol.
This museum was filled with interesting artefacts that explained the industry and crafts of the area. The children loved the fact that the staff put themselves out to be friendly and explain things to them; they were exceptional and made our visit fun and informative. The grounds are really lovely and there is a very nice, well maintained childrens playpark. We were amazed to find such a lovely place to visit that was totally free which was a huge bonus when so many attractions are so expensive. We would all highly recommend this place for both children and adults alike.

The Llanelli and Mynydd Mawr Railway is a charity (charity no. 1087985) based at the former Cynheidre Colliery site, 6 miles north of Llanelli and is a growing tourist attraction which is bringing regeneration to a former coal mining community. On open days the railway currently offers short diesel train rides, a heritage centre, a buffet car serving refreshments, lake with dipping platforms and several other small features. There is ample car parking on site. Please note that the site is only open to the public on specific dates.
