Polimétria and Julio were a highlight to our trip to Salento. My partner, Luka, and I stumbled upon the shop venturing out for dinner one evening. We were astonished by the beautiful ceramics that Julio and his partner had made. From the careful attention to detail to their aesthetically pleasing designs, the designs are unique to anything that you will find on the Main Street of the town. After our initial visit, we intended to revisit the store and purchase some of Polimétria‘s goods for our friends a few days later. We were incredibly sad to learn that we had missed opening hours and the store was closed. In a shot in the dark, we messaged Polimétria via their Instagram account to see if Julio may be in the store. To our absolute surprise, Julio messaged us and offered to open the shop within minutes. When we arrived, Julio met us with a warm welcome and shared details about many of the pieces and the production process. What made the visit extra special was that Julio took the time to have a friendly conversation about his country and the region, which gave us some insight from a local perspective. The customer service was incredible, the ceramics are made with love, and we hope that one day we will be blessed to visit Polimétria again.
