Volcanic Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea provide the cinema-worthy backdrop for Taormina, Sicily's legendary resort town. Twisting medieval streets and a second-century Greek theater add to its romantic air, which inspired the writings of D.H. Lawrence and Truman Capote. Take a cable car to the beach, or walk uphill behind the Church of St. Joseph for panoramic views.

Rented a Fiat Panda for a week from California Rent Car in the summer of 2019 and would recommend their services to anyone visiting the region around Taormina. It's easy to get from the airport by taxi or bus, so even if it's possible to pick up and leave the car at the airport I'd say it's more convenient to pick it up at California's office in downtown Taormina. It was reassuring to be able to communicate with Daniele through email before arriving and everything was according to my booking, the price, the car and on top of that the service was fast and professional. Will definitely use their services again if I visit Taormina again. Tip: Get the smallest car you can fit in, the roads in and around Taormina are narrow. The Panda we had was admittedly a bit “snug“ for three tall men, but it was good fun!.
