This 12-mile scenic drive encompasses salt marshes, forest and seascape.
We stayed in Branford and visited family in Guilford. Most of the time we took the interstate, until one day discovered Route 146. There is a scenic marsh, a nice dairy, trees, and a slower speed limit. Although it didn't take much longer, if any, since it was a little shorter total distance. Enjoy the views!

The Stony Creek Museum celebrates the history of a small seaside village where European immigrants settled to quarry the famous pink granite used in the base of the Statue of Liberty and many Manhattan skyscrapers. The beautiful Thimble Islands offshore display a wonderful history of their own. A visit to the museum is an educational and enriching experience.

Pulling into the scenic streets of Branford, we came upon Stony Creek Brewery and had to “hop” on board. We were escorted to a lovely outdoor patio area, filled with scenic views and Adirondack chairs a plenty. Our server Ferg came to us with supposed smiles (he was wearing a mask after all) and pale calves. His friendly disposition was extremely welcoming, and he seemed like the kind of server you’d want to be your best friend. In fact, I’m still hoping that’s the case. My friend and I sipped on a Sun Juice and Cherry Zinger Sour, both equally delicious with hints of nostalgic Luden’s cough drops. If you’re lucky, you might even be able to spot the typo on the can (mums the word until you visit for yourself ????). Overall we had a truly magical experience with the staff at Stony Creek. From being awarded a buffalo sauce dip for our pizza to a luau umbrella for my frozé, Stony Creek is where you need to be this summer. Especially with our man Ferg. Love ya, love ya long time!

If you’re looking for great beer and amazing service then this is the place! There are always new beers coming out so be on the look out! The venue always has things going on so check their Facebook page for activities like food trucks and live music! At night there are fire pits to gather around to stay warm outside or you can play some corn hole! You can bring food from outside places as well! Overall my favorite place to chill and drink in Branford!!!

It was a smaller brewery but awesome! I loved the variety of beers on tap and learned they switch up their brew options as well! Fair prices and friendly atmosphere really enhanced our visit ... my favorite was the Bach (deliciously dark) but they had something for all types of beer lovers. Oh! Let's not forget they have soft pretzels too ????
