The Karon Temple night markets are a must, there is street food to try, bargains to be had and bartering if you want more than one item, there are lots of t-shirts, scarfs, bags, souvenirs. Tuesday and Friday night is market night, both nights much the same, each time I've been i've always bought something

Get there early (before 1730hrs) as this place gets super busy super quick. Heaps of different food stalls to choose from for example-BBQ ribs (150 baht), Pad Thai, mixed vegetables on skewers (4 for 100 baht), fish, chicken schnitzel on a stick, ice cream, pancakes, drinks. All stalls are very clean with no bad smells. Store operators are friendly and helpful. Portion sizes are generous. -No table service (although a couple of stall operators did bring our food across to us-unexpected but lovely). We ate here most evenings (8 out of 12 nights) perfect every time- better value than the Patong food street markets and not as busy. Family friendly-large movable tables-something for everyone. Then after dinner we perused the cloths and souvenir stalls in the same block.

Also known as the Karon Bazaar, this plaza is a terrific stop for souvenir shopping as well as home decor and housewares, which you can get for a bargain if you're willing to haggle.
