5 Flea & Street Markets in Bristol That You Shouldn't Miss

February 20, 2022 Lean Nau

Bristol is a quirky British city with beautiful hilly vistas and plenty of historic sights to explore. Anyone interested in ships will have a blast aboard Brunel’s SS Great Britain, the world’s first great oceanliner, and the Matthew, a replica of the ship upon which John Cabot sailed to America in the 15th century. The graceful Clifton Suspension Bridge is another must-see.

Tobacco Factory

Our bustling Sunday Market is the perfect spot to meet with friends, relax with family and discover exceptional foods, crafts and produce, made and grown in the local area. There are around 40 stalls to explore each week, featuring an exciting range of eco-friendly, fair-trade and organic produce – from artisan bread and shellfish to hand-made clothes and jewellery. The market is a great way to meet local makers, ask questions and get to know the growers, producers and artists in your area. Bristol Pounds are accepted at every stall. Recharge your batteries at the Cafe Bar which opens every Sunday from 10am for brunch, coffee and cake.

Every time we come here we vow to come more often and it doesn`t always happen. We have just been to see Snow White (without attendant children) and can honestly say we loved every minute, Their Christmas shows always seem to be of a fantastic standard, able to be enjoyed by adults and children. We started when our grandson said after a pantomime that he was "all panto-ed out" and he`s always loved their shows. Inventive? Witty? Alternative? Clever? Funny? All of those but more importantly, not in the least smutty. Beauty and the Beast is coming in the Summer so that`s an absolute "must" with several shows before that on my wish list too.
