What kind of beachgoer are you? Chances are, you’ll find something in the Sarasota area that appeals to you. Soft sand, fishing piers, shells—you can find it around here. Just don’t go looking for a nude beach—that’s the one thing they don’t have.

Jousts, sword fights, strolling singers real life battle chess, falcons, pony rides, petting zoo, medieval clothing, medieval toys, turkey legs, singing sirens, entrance hecklers, mazes, games and so much more! I went here with my family and we had an absolute blast! I didn't think we expected to spend hours upon hours here but around every corner was another activity or show or something. This was such a fun time for every family or every age!

This is one of the best, most comprehensive shell shows on the Florida Gulf Coast. Scientific exhibits, sales of common and rare shells, knowledgeable vendors, helpful Sarasota Shell Club members, kid's area. Both shells and fantastic shell art are on display and for sell. It's inexpensive and very family friendly.

Modern Marimba is a cultural destination for the performing arts featuring marimba, vibraphone, and other mallet percussion keyboard music in Southwest Florida – land once inhabited by the Indigenous Calusa, Tocobaga, and Seminole territory, and once inhabited by Black Seminoles and an Angolan community of maroons. With generous support grounded in equity, we offer a unique range of programs — including concert music, virtual lectures, and outdoor exhibitions featuring internationally acclaimed artists. Our projects naturally cultivate diversity and inclusion for art in its many forms. There are fewer and fewer opportunities where people can come together and listen to this music, so we welcome everyone to join us in experiencing the creativity of Modern Marimba.
It was such a wonderful experience attending the inaugural performance curated by Modern Marimba (ModMa)! Some of ModMa's founders and leaders - Tihda Vongkoth, Michael Jones, and Dean Anderson - shared beautiful, inspiring, and meditative musical art with a vibrant community in Sarasota. Their partnership with artists, educators, and unique community organizations makes the experience all the more enriching. This first performance had a casual, inviting, yet sophisticated vibe that felt just right for the occasion. I look forward to retuning to Sarasota for all of the upcoming performances!
