A holiday in Norfolk is not a glamorous break. While the Norfolk Broads of East Anglia are a beautiful part of the UK, they represent a relaxing rural getaway rather than a high-powered city-break. Although its reputation is mostly rural, with people associating the county mostly with the wetlands of the Norfolk Broads, there are also towns such as Norwich and King's Lynn to visit, both of which provide shopping opportunities, nightlife and entertainment. Norfolk also contains a large stretch of coastline, and seaside destinations such as Cromer and Great Yearmouth mean there are great beaches to be found as well. Many areas of the Norfolk Broads and the coastal region are sites of outstanding natural beauty, and are also protected as bird reserves, so take a pair of binoculars on holiday. There are also popular wildlife attractions such as Banham Zoo, with a great collection of big cats, and Great Yarmouth's Sea Life Centre, one of the biggest of its kind in the country, complete with tropical sharks and conger eels. And of course, if any of your family are interested in boating, you'll need to rent a boat and explore the waterways of the Broads themselves!

Norfolk's premier golfing and dining destination. Featuring a stunning new 18-hole golf course and The Stables - Norfolk's newest dining and conference destination. Open 7 days week, to all.
I visited the “new” Royal Norwich for the first time on Friday and it was a wonderful day. The clubhouse is stunning....I love the contemporary open plan bar, restaurant and kitchen......the quality of the finish is second to none and it has a lovely feel. What really elevated it though were the staff, from walking in to reception, the pro shop and the bar and restaurant staff.....all super friendly and professional. Those of us that have played at lots of different golf courses know this is not always the case. Now on to the golf. A super course. I played the old Weston Park and whilst there are a small number of holes that remain, the transformation is amazing. Most holes are inviting from the tee......the devil though is in the detail. Well designed but tough bunkers and the greens, well, very big, lots of undulations and if you are the wrong side of the pin or putting from distance.....good luck! Excellent practice facilities as well. Finally, just want to comment on the 19th hole after the round. We sat outside in beautiful sunshine with the best burger I’ve ever had......delicious! It was obviously freshly made and do doubt with local ingredients.....well done Chef and the team! All I can say that this was one of the best golf days out I’ve had and I am really looking forward to visiting again. PS.....they have also got a small micro-brewery on site!

Jane and her team were brilliant. Communication was excellent before the event, and on the day they were really kind, caring and made the event fun. they did 20 facials/massages/pedicures for our big house party and everyone came out looking blissed out and saying what amazing treatments they had. Personally I had an incredible massage and facial from Jane, felt like I came out a new person. These guys have the magic touch! Highly recommended.

The cookery school is based in the heart of the Macarons & More Norwich bakery. It’s the perfect place to come and be inspired by all things sweet. We run a range of hands-on classes throughout the year, taught by Tim Kinnaird and the Macarons & More team – plus the occasional special guest.
I've done two different classes (both still available) at Macarons & More cookery school now and loved both of them. (I'm back for a third soon!) The salted caramel brownies we made were amazing. The cookies have found a permanent spot in my freezer. The techniques and tips you can pick up from the instructors are so valuable and helpful. In terms of the day, it's all terribly relaxed and informal. The hidden benefit they don't tell you about, is the tea and cake provided throughout! You will walk away after a delicious lunch with all the tasty treats you've just made. Make sure you're being sociable later that day so you can spread your bounty around!
