Old Wentworth Gaol

A very warm welcome made us feel great about visiting. There are so many interesting things to read about and see including old photos of police stations, evidences of ghosts and fabulous antiques that you can purchase. I even learnt about the possum man who lived in the bush nearby - i had never heard of this before. Definitely worth a visit!

Perry Sand Hills

Reviewed By ARTINSPIRATION

Perry Sandhills are dramatic, subtle and stunning. Patterns and shadows cast from flora, the dunes ripple and have striking hard edge lines. Look down and follow the tracks of native animals, especially lizards and goanna. Wild flowers and porcupine grass. Be respectful in this delicate wonderous ancient site.

Junction Park

Reviewed By Crystalline4u - Traralgon, Australia

There is a viewing tower at this park which is a nice addition, but regardless of whether it was there or not... this would be a lovely place to stop. The banks of the river are stunning. Climb the viewing tower and see the confluence of the Murray and Darling Rivers, which, combined, is the fourth largest river system in the world. When the Darling is in flow, a surprise awaits -as the two rivers are marked by a distinct colour difference viewable from the tower. The Darling is a clay based river, its milky appearance contrasts starkly to that of the mighty Murray. After climbing the tower for a view, you should head off on the walk that takes you through a reedy path and it's so surreal... you will reach a lookout point that looks out onto Lock 10. Surprisingly, while my father and I stood there taking it's serenity... other walkers joined us. I think this is a 'must see' if you are in Wentworth.

Wentworth Pioneer Museum

We went to the pioneer museum during our stay in Mildura ! We found it a fascinating place filled with all sorts of historical and pioneering artefacts ! The kids loved the dinosaurs and megafauna! I loved the old hospital equipment ! My husband loved the old machinery and carts! There is also a great video to watch about the 1956 flood and what it did to the area ! This museum has something for everyone and we had a great few hours wandering around looking at all the exhibits!
