This is a must-see in this region of Switzerland, especially on a Sunday when most of the country is shut down. Admission price is modest and gains you entrance to surrounding museums. The exhibits are rich in detail, easily accessed, and full of information, especially if you use the audio option, which only requires ID for use. Our eyes were opened to the wide world of timepieces and care in which they were crafted throughout the ages.

The museum is well worth a visit both for the art deco interior and the permanent collection which hosts great works of French impressionists as well as a magnificent modigliano, among others.

Tired of watches, looking for something special in La-Chaux? Just get through the extra work and request a guide by mail. The staff is pleasant, forthcoming and will do their best to help you. This comes at an additional price worth every penny (for us- a group of six, the whole experience amounted to 10.- pp entrance and 100.- for the lady guide). We visited on a weekend and arrived early, enjoying the extra time in the peaceful garden. Our guide showed us around and pointed out many details from the life of the architect, his work, (local) architectural history, using perfect English. The whole acquired knowledge added extra quality and a cultural touch to our Jurassic trip, shining a special light on a town that's otherwise better known for watchmaking.
