Hutchinson is the largest city and county seat in Reno County, Kansas, United States, and located on the Arkansas River. It has been home to salt mines since 1887, thus its nickname of "Salt City", but locals call it "Hutch". As of the 2010 census, the city population was 42,080.

The Cosmosphere International SciEd Center & Space Museum is a Smithsonian affiliated museum in Hutchinson, KS. Its collection includes U.S. space artifacts second only to the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, and the largest collection of Russian space artifacts outside of Moscow. Fantastic US Space Program museum! World class museum of Space relics including Gus Grissom’s Liberty Bell 7 and Apollo 13 Command Module as well as numerous other space and aviation items. My wife and I very much enjoyed our visit there and highly recommend it! The Cosmosphere is truly a national treasure!

Well who doesn't enjoy the zoo! Yes it's small but the animals are still worth the visit. Very interesting pathways to follow and young children would especially enjoy the train ride

You have got to stop here, they have some very unique sauces, pickles, candies, it’s a great little store in the heart of Hutchinson, you need to get, Smiths Market salsa, it’s smoky flavor and very, very hot, it is great, their fudge is to die for also. This is a great place to stop and check out.
