We came here for a day trip in the summer and loved it - the location is so beautiful, very scenic. We parked in Pertisau and were lucky to find parking along the lake. From there it was a short walk to the boats - you can take a round trip or a one-way trip for a various length of time - we were here with two small children so opted for a 40-minute round trip around the lake and that was perfect. Once you're on the boat you can order ice-cream and coffees etc - this is quite highly priced as you would expect, but it's part of the experience. Absolutely beautiful location and we can't wait to return and spend more time here.

Welcome ... on the only alpine pasture that can only be reached on foot or by boat. The Gaisalm is found between mountain and lake in an idyllic secluded location, directly on the quiet west bank of the Achensee. Enjoy the natural paradise around the Gaisalm, the fantastic view of the Achensee and the wonderful tranquility. Arrive, be warmly welcome, feel good all around and enjoy - that is the motto of the Gaisalm. Our kitchen team prepares tyrolean dishes and homemade pastries. All you have to bring is a healthy appetite, especially if you arrive on foot. The playground offers variety for children of all ages and can be seen from the terrace. You can reach the Gaisalm either on foot from Pertisau or Achenkirch or by boat.
You can get to the Gaisalm either by boat or on foot. The route from Pertisau is easy and also possible with small children or by bike. Coming from Achenkirch, the path is more demanding - steeper, with stairs and definitely not feasible by bike (not even for mountain bikes!). Both sections of Achenkirch and Pertisau are very beautiful. Along the Achensee - fantastic, with great views and good views over the lake. You can sit outside on the Gaisalm or inside. It is usually well attended, but there are seats. The food is good - at least the Kaiserschmarrn and the apple strudel with vanilla sauce - both tasted good to me. Regarding some reviews here: Of course it's not a 5 star restaurant, but the food is good. Hello??? This is an alpine pasture and not a gourmet restaurant with Michelin stars. The prices are fair, I think. There is also a playground for children. The ferry landing is directly at the Gaisalm. However, I would look at the weather forecast. I think it's not fun to get in the rain on the way. From me, a very clear recommendation to visit, when staying at Achensee!
