The Gold Coast's first and only craft Gin, Vodka and Whiskey distillery located just two minutes walk from the North Burleigh beach. Recreating age-old family recipes in memory of our Great Granddad Jack, each of our spirits are handcrafted and made from locally or nationally sourced raw materials. We have humbly won multiple prestigious industry awards since opening and invite you to join us on a tour or visit to the Tasting Room to try for yourself. Production is on full show to visitors from the Tasting Room and tours are available over the weekend. We also host a very intimate distillery experience weekly where you can make your own bottle of gin and enjoy an evening with our Head Distiller. Our Tasting Room has a BYO food policy (order in or bring your own cheeseboard). We're both family & fur baby friendly and often have local live music on weekends.
So our day started with a tour of the Granddad Jack’s distillery, with a gin in our hand and Dave telling his story. We learnt about the family history and how every aspect of the business came together from the building of the premises to the name on each bottle. We were captivated from the start and felt like we’d been welcomed into the family. Being that the venue is BYO food, we decided to whip out a little cheese board and Nicky kindly sat us at the bar to be a part of the action. Zac and Jimmy had the bar under control and had some great banter to keep us entertained for the day. Luke popped his head up briefly out the back, but boy oh boy is his coffee liqueur worth a try!! The kiwi singer (Joe I think) knew how to read the room when it came to song choices. Alongside the usual Sunday vibes, he did some originals songs and then some acoustic versions of songs you wouldn’t really expect to hear. It was all round a lovely atmosphere. We have friends coming up to QLD from VIC later this year and will definitely be bringing them here! Thanks again to the awesome family that is Granddad Jack’s! Sam and Blondie xx

Went on a brewery tour and Dave was great and gave so much information. Dark Helmet is addictive and also the IPA is so aromatic and flavoursome.. on tour we got a free beer can to walk around with and also after the tour a tasting paddle so I think it is great value for money. And also a stubby holder for free.

Australia’s Champion Brewery right on your doorstep. Black Hops have two locations on the Gold Coast, their original brewery and taproom in Burleigh (HQ) and their new production brewery and taproom in Biggera Waters (Black Hops II). Black Hops started as a simple idea over a beer with 3 good mates Dan, Eddie and Govs. That lead to the first Black Hops beer, the Eggnog Stout. Their award-winning beers are unpasteurised and made with no preservatives. Each Taproom has a selection of 14 beers on tap, so there's sure to be a beer for every palate. BREWERY TOURS The Taproom team can give you a free brewery tour at anytime if the brewery isn’t too busy. Or why not book a $30 V.I.P Tour on the first Saturday of each month at 2pm at HQ or 4pm at BHII. Black Hops II has food trucks onsite Friday - Sunday. Both locations are family and dog friendly. Black Hops HQ – 15 Gardenia Grove, Burleigh Heads Opening Hours: Wednesday - Friday 12-7pm, Saturday - Sunday 12-6pm. Black Hops II – 671 Pin
Been to Black Hops tap room a couple of times now, great both times. Love the eggnog stout on tap as did the rest of my family. Cider was tasty too for non-beer drinkers. Will return.
