Acadia View B & B

It's the view.

Reviewed By Tootsie64

As the name of the b and b implies there is a view. It's terrific. The room I had was large enough for a queen bed. The bath was smallish with a smallish shower, no tub. There was an excellent deck with that view! Did I mention the view? This b and b is not a charming, elegant large home of the past. It is a newish large home of the 21st century. The decor however is reminiscent of your great aunt Abby's home of the 1970's or 80's. This is just a reflection of my taste but I felt that there was: Too much gilt. Too many furnishing found at local yard sales. Too many square yards of flower print wallpaper. Just too much. The breakfast is family-style meaning that no one eats until all the folks who said they wanted breakfast at that hour have arrived at the breakfast table. The meal itself could be called execeptable, but there is no opportunity to add or edit the offerings. Eat or don't eat. Yup. It's all about the view. Enjoy!

Sunset House Bed and Breakfast

A "must stay" when visiting Acadia National Park

Reviewed By Ariel L

My stay was wonderful. The room was cozy and comfortable. The breakfast that was served each day were outstanding! It was different every day and were beyond delicious. The land around the B&B was peaceful and beautiful. What makes this B&B are the owners, Kathy and Carl. They are very hospitable, friendly, gracious and all together great human beings. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

Acadia Oceanside Meadows Inn

Greetings! I, Ben, and my wife, Sonja, would like to welcome you to Acadia's Oceanside Meadows Inn. We encourage you to discover the serenity and hospitality of Schoodic Peninsula, located in the heart of beautiful Downeast Maine. The buildings of our Inn stand on 200 acres at the head of Sand Cove in picturesque Prospect Harbor. At Oceanside Meadows we have two very specific goals: to ensure that you have an extraordinary experience staying at our historic inn and to introduce you to our ever-evolving 200 acre nature preserve. Explore our sandy beach, rocky shore, dunes, meadows, forest, ponds, streams, and pristine salt marsh environments, which offer a great diversity of habitats and wildlife. My wife and I, who have a background in science and conservation, are committed to the preservation of this extraordinary place. Oceanside Meadows marries all that you would expect from a historic inn that has been open since 1860 with an unparalleled opportunity to explore and to understand Maine's environment and natural splendor. We invite you to join us here for a relaxing respite on the ocean. Be lulled to sleep by the sound of the surf on our private sandy beach. Individually appointed bedrooms are lavishly furnished with your comfort in mind. Our rooms feature ocean and meadow views, private baths, flowers from the garden, and the refreshing sea breeze. Enjoy hearty gourmet breakfasts in our gracious dining room as you watch the lobster boats ply the Atlantic just yards away. Feast on wild blueberry pancakes, specialty omelets, homemade breads and other delights. We are glad to cater to vegetarian and other dietary needs. Our unique sandy beach is a great place to have a picnic, to lie in the sun or to take a dip in the brisk Atlantic. Explore the rugged coastline, tidal pools, and lighthouses; spot an eagle or osprey overhead; try sea kayaking, yachting, fresh water canoeing. Head out on a real Maine Lobster boat, see the seals basking in the sun, whales breaching, the puffins at Petit Manan Light, on your way back in to the dock pull lobster traps, truly immersing in the real wonders of the Downeast Maine coast. Try the trails of Acadia National Park at Schoodic 5 mins away or our own just behind the Inn.

Innkeeper Ben gave us the perfect experience

Reviewed By Shelley090

We loved that the Inn was outside of Bar Harbor, away from the hustle and bustle of tourists and shops. Across the street and directly in front of the hotel is a beautiful beach with plenty of craggy rocks and pink granite to explore. Behind the hotel is a myriad of trails all well marked with Ben's laminated signs tacked to trees. Beautiful wetlands, forests and meadows are to be found on these trails. Our room was at the tippy top of the hotel facing the ocean. It was charming and quaint with plenty of privacy. We could not have planned our arrival date more perfectly as that evening Ben hosted a lovely musical event in a converted barn that is now a theater. Breakfasts were different each day and as I am vegan, the staff made me delicious specialty meals that were 5 star in taste and design. I would highly recommend Acadia Oceanside Meadows Inn and hats off to Ben who made our visit unforgettable.

Uploaded is a picture of our thank you cards to the owner and chef of Elsa’s Inn. Both speak volumes in terms of this highly suitable B&B for a relaxing vacation with such freshly made-from-scratch breakfast every morning! Conversation is flowing with Mr. Scott Markwood and Ms. Ruby along with guests who are friendly and down to earth. All the information provided by Scott via email and when he checked us in contributed to how enjoyable and aggravation-free our stay in the area, all the way to Mt. Desert Island and Lubec was. Scott had our bed sheets changed with fresh towels on our fourth day. Our bathroom was spacious. Our bed and pillows were comfortable. The huge home-made cookies when we arrive every evening holds us off if when we’re hungry or is excellent with after dinner tea. Everything was a treat!

Bluff House Inn

Awesome place! We definitely going back.

Reviewed By henryncaroli

The hotel was an awesome place. The view of the ocean from the balcony is breathtaking. The workers there were so helpful. They told us about good places to eat that would not cost an arm and a leg. We felt like we had the house to ourselves. The place is very secluded. We loved it. We just cannot say enough good things about this place. The only bad thing we would have to say is that the sign that leads to the driveway was poorly lit and partly covered with trees. We are not used to the area and arrived at night. We passed the driveway there times before we finally found it. After we found the place though we had no complaints. In fact, we plan on going back next year in October.
