Miles of powder-white beaches hug the coast at Belle Mare, where championship golf courses, posh resorts, a family-friendly water park and abundant aquatic sports ensure activity-filled days. Deep-sea fishing for tuna, marlin and mako shark is especially popular in this eastern Mauritius enclave. Belle Mare also serves as a convenient base camp for a trek to 1,575-foot Lion Mountain, where sweeping views reward those who make the challenging hike to its peak.

Our hosts were welcoming and friendly, accommodation was very good and the fresh local food served was excellent.. A short walk to a fabulous beach.. Good roti stalls and a small supermarket. Nice, safe and quiet. Would suggest half board. Would return...

What a delightful hotel! Off the beaten track, quiet and peaceful. Our comfortable, stylish, very spacious room (which the air conditioning managed to bring to a comfortable temperature without any problem) had an enormous window with fantastic view over the lake and a large, sheltered verandah looking over both the lake and the sumptuous gardens. There is a lovely swimming pool too. The hosts were very attentive. They prepared fresh breakfasts and offered us evening meals (delicious!) and went over and above what we could expect - not just directions for how to reach the village on foot but actually dropping us off there. It can be hard for taxi drivers to find; I suggest programming into Google maps and guiding them yourself.

I arrived on Saturday 30.10.2019. I had booked this at short notice as I was unable to keep my room for the last day of my holiday and needed somewhere to relax and get a shower. On arrival I was shown straight to my room that had everything I needed. If I was doing a budget holiday in Mauritius this hotel would have been perfect. The bed was comfortable and I managed to get a couple of hours sleep before the long flight home as I can’t sleep on a plane. Even though the shower was cold there was plenty of pressure for me to get a good shower. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the dining room on each floor On departure I was talking to the owner who told me that he does airport transfers for his customers at a fraction of the cost of a taxi.
