The crown jewels, Buckingham Palace, Camden Market…in London, history collides with art, fashion, food, and good British ale. A perfect day is different for everyone: culture aficionados shouldn't miss the Tate Modern and the Royal Opera House. If you love fashion, Oxford Street has shopping galore. For foodies, cream tea at Harrod’s or crispy fish from a proper chippy offers classic London flavor. Music and book buffs will love seeing Abbey Road and the Sherlock Holmes Museum (at 221B Baker Street, of course).

The Trades Union Congress (TUC) exists to make the working world a better place for everyone. We bring together more than 5.6 million working people who make up our 50 member unions. We support unions to grow and thrive and stand up for everyone who works for a living. It was decided at Congress in 1944, that a permanent memorial to the heroism and gallantry of unionists during the second world war should be erected, to include a headquarters building and training college for the TUC. The first open architectural competition since the war in 1946 saw 181 entrants with David du Rieu Aberdeen selected as the winner in 1948. Congress House is now home to three major public artworks. Jacob Epstein’s memorial, 'Pieta' dominates the courtyard, depicting a mother cradling her dead son. Bernard Meadows’ 'Spirit of Brotherhood' stands to the front of Congress House with 'Solidarity Screen' by Eva Berendes curving around the south east corner of the building on Dyott Street.
