Pizzorno Family is the fourth generation to continue with the same love and respect for nature that started over century ago. Carlos continues with the same love and respect for nature and carries on a family legacy that hasn't lost a single element of that fine wine tradition and that has adapted to our times with the most advanced techniques in cultivating the vines, elaborating wine and searching for enologist excellence. Having reconverted both vineyards and winery Pizzorno Family Wines truly represent a rich and prosperous land. Today Carlos Pizzorno has the leadership of a family that has believed in that land and through the years worked arduous and passionately for their wines.

Wow great tour and explanation of the inner workings of the winery. Their passion for their wine really shines through. We were treated to an incredible lunch. They treated us to some phenomenal tango. Family owned and operated.

Urban winery producing complex long aging wines with simple methods. When scheduled in advance, tastings with the founder and winemaker can be of a lot of fun, this includes wine history of Uruguay, wines, cheese, home baked bread etc. Wines are sold at the place.

This Winery was suggested to us by Viator, a Trip Advisor Co. They were right on! We were driven out into the country and to the historic winery to have a wonderful lunch and taste great Tanat wines. We were not disappointed. The food was spectacular and our host Juan was so wonderful and kind to us. If you are in Montevideo and you don't visit here, you are making a mistake. Great wines great food, beautiful quaint location.

If you’re staying in Montevideo, don’t miss a half day trip out to Bodega Artesana. We booked the tasting with three wines and small plates. This was very ample as a lunch. The wine pours are generous, more like a half glass, at least. What was really nice is they threw in a fourth wine and small dessert. At $25 per person, this was a terrific deal! The prices for bottles was very reasonable, very unlike the winery experience you get in the US. We purchased three bottles, perfect for our upcoming stay at an Estancia. Getting there was easy, about a 45 minute transfer from the old city.
