When you think “adventure travel” you probably think of far-flung places like Belize and Alaska—not Wisconsin. But if you’re an outdoor adventurer, you’ll find plenty of places to explore in Wisconsin. A vacation in Wisconsin can put you close to the Kettle Moraine State Forest, which has excellent biking trails. Or choose Wisconsin’s Apostle Islands—kayakers will love exploring Lake Superior’s many caves and shipwrecks.
Packers fans don’t wear those cheese-wedge hats for nothing! Foodies will love tasting as many of Wisconsin’s artisanal cheeses as possible. Either drive from cheesemaker to cheesemaker, or choose a Wisconsin vacation in a town with a good farmers’ market—then the cheesemakers bring their wares to you. And what goes better with artisanal cheese than craft beer? In Milwaukee, visit the Lakefront and Sprecher Breweries for tours and tastings.
Wisconsin Dells is a classic family vacation destination. A vacation in Wisconsin Dells will put you close to all the excitement—you’ll have to tear the kids away from the theme parks, wave pools and water parks in Wisconsin Dells!
Lake Geneva boasts clean beaches, golf, and a small-town feel that definitely appeals to city dwellers—it’s a popular getaway for residents of Chicago.

Love everything about this wine bar. The living-room style set-up, the small (10 seats?) bar, the tasting area, and the automated wine pours that allow me to satisfy my curiosity about ~24 wines and select the size of my pours. Very friendly and knowledgeable owners. Love the vibe and the exposed cream city brick. Great small plates (cheese and charcuterie, most notably). I'm following them on FB, love the wide variety of high-quality tasting events that they host for about 12-14 people (sign up early!) and their happy hours. Street parking plus some surface lots nearby are available for parking.

We stopped by DnA Vintners and they were so friendly. The wines are not your typical grape wines but made from cranberries, rhubarb, currant and other local fruits. The wines are very well done and they also had a fantastic wine slushee. Even if you are a wine snob you can come in and enjoy the skill that this vintner has working with non-traditional wines. The tasting room is beautiful and they have some crazy awesome 3D paintings in and outside of the tasting room.

Wine is what we’re all about and our selection focuses on boutique, small-production wines that you can enjoy in three different pour sizes to sample and sip from our 16 unique wine taps, bottle list or house pours. Cocktails and a carefully selected bottle beer list appeal to true enthusiasts. Our menu is casual yet inventive, including gourmet dishes, bar fare, small plates and desserts — all available for late-night dining. Welcome to Walker’s Point, Milwaukee’s warehouse district and newfound foodie neighborhood. In August 2013, a turn-of-the-century building on South 2nd Street, originally the Schupert-Zoeller Printing Company, became Black Sheep. We kept the exposed brick walls, the original wood floors and the soaring beadboard ceiling. We added original artwork, a big metal-top bar and eclectic modern interiors. Developed and fully restored by KPH Construction, Black Sheep joins a growing list of places proud of our Milwaukee roots. Join the neighborhood revelry.

Welcome to Lost Island Winery, a small family-owned wine company that produces about 30 different flavors of wine. We invite you to stop and taste our creations as we truly believe we have something for everyone. Then when you've found your favorite flavor, we suggest you take a bottle and....GET LOST!
Stopped in on a Saturday about 5pm, there were just a few people at the tasting bar. They offer a variety of wines, cider and beer, thankfully they have very reasonable tasting prices so my husband and I got to try most of everything they had to offer. The person who helped us was very friendly, willing to answer any questions and explain the pricing and products. She had great timing in knowing when to get us a new sampling, when to converse a bit and when to give us some time to ourselves. The atmosphere was a fun tiki environment with wines named in an island theme and the beer (Skeleton Crew Brew) had a pirate theme. Definitely try the Twine (a tea wine) and their cider - I think those were my favorite. I learned the beer is only available on tap (for now), since it is a new endeavor for them. We're in town about once a year, and we will for sure be stopping in again!
