a nice walk through tree ferns and large trees. We took the west walk the returned by the East walk which we thought was the best way to go. A short steep paved track close to the falls and apart from a few steps was easily walked. The falls are not large but worth the interesting walk there and back. About 30 minute walk from the car park where there are plenty of seats for a picnic, toilets also available. Very pleasant spot

I remember as a kid this was a popular trip from the La Trobe Valley, but it seems to have fallen out of minds of people because not people have heard of falls outside area. Stunning forested area and waterfalls that you can get up close and personal. TIP: turn of Grand Ridge Rd and drive down Ohlsens Rd for around 5 mins. When you get to bridge (Hatchery Rd) veer left to stay on Ohlsens/Morwell River Rd and than drive for another 5 mins until you get to Morwell River Falls Reserve that has small carpark. TIP: follow path to open area with table and info board (5-10 min walk).. than you will see pole marked falls. Follow walking track down all the way to large fallen tree across river and than veer sharp left along river until you get falls. Involves walking through trees but there is a marked rough track. TIP: when you drive in from Grand Ridge Road you can take road that takes you to opposite side of river bank - road is called Frontage Rd. TIP: we went back way from Melbourne through Dumbalk. We ended up along Shellcotts Rd which is a single lane excellent quality dirt road but with a sheer drop off that isn’t good for people with fear of heights.

The drive in is amazing, as are the falls. They were full to overflowing when we were there. Easy walk into the falls and the surrounding picnic area is very well maintained.

We went there with the children and family friends. If you live around South East and want to go for a day trip sight seeing and seeing some amazing (all year round) water falls, this is the place to be. Dogs allowed Children friendly (just be aware as it could be a little slippery when wet) Medium fitness (and I’m not fit and it worked) Enjoy the deep forest with just amazing sounds of water running. Picnic area is also there, but we enjoyed the picnic at Noojee town where there’s more toilets, and bigger picnic space for families. Also don’t miss the old bridge, that’s is just a 10-15 minutes simple round trip.

Lovely falls very close to road. a few steps to the viewing platform and if you want to see more another few steps takes you down a bit further for a different view. Worth stopping for a few minutes
