We open 365days. Shin-Yokohama Raumen Museum was founded on March 6th, 1994 as the world's first food-themed amusement park. From the start, our concept has been to be the one-stop place to enjoy the flavors of this national dish from renowned shops across Japan without stepping on a plane. To commemorate our 20th anniversary, we've expanded on the Japan-wide concept to being one that covers areas worldwide, delivering even more of the attraction and fascination of ramen to one and all. Our nine ramen shops are showcased in a street-scape replication from the year 1958, Japan. It was in this year that the world's first instant ramen was invented.
I’ve been to the Shinyokohama Ramen Museum 3-4 times over the years. My wife only went the last time a few weeks ago. Since my previous visit, they improved the “museum” aspect on ground level with a demo counter. The gift shop seemed smaller. Downstairs is unchanged - and good for that! The decor is the facades from 1958 Japan and it’s awesome. You have branches of the best ramen shops around Japan and a guest shop from abroad. You will get a guide (available in several languages) that describes the style of each place and signature dish. They are rated on type of noodle, richness of broth, etc. Lines will form and there are a couple of status boards showing estimates of the wait time. Some of the most popular things will have waits of 45 minutes or more at times. They are all great. Go early to get into a popular one quickly for a small bowl, then go to another with a shorter line. Tips: there is an old-time candy shop, a bar, and a lounge as well. You will need Japanese yen cash, you order food by buying tickets from machines as in many small Japanese restaurants. There are English menus. Most shops do have a vegetarian or vegan broth in addition to pork or whatever is their standard. The cost of entry is worth it.

Lines are a lot shorter when paid for individually, rather than the US standard of paying park admission. We experienced Vanish! (the pink coaster that dives into a tunnel in the water), the beautiful ferris wheel (which offers some fantastic views of Yokohama Bay), a 3-D laser shooting ride, and the log ride. Enjoyed it immensely.

YOKOHAMA HAKKEIJIMA SEA PARADISE is a leisure land surrounded by nature. It is located at the tip of Yokohama Bay and is a new generation style amusement park. It is the home of one of the top aquariums in Japan. There is Japan's first surf coaster that swings out over the ocean, an exhilarating vertical fall amusement ride, BLUE FALL. We have specialty shops , great restaurants, a marina and a hotel located among wide grass and flower gardens. There are so many things to do and experience; you will not be satisfied with just one visit. Being at our Sea Paradise creates an ideal setting where man and sea can communicate together.
Before entering the main gate, the walkway has already got us stunned, it’s not the usual seaside view. We were surrounded by windy wild sea with eagles flying around above us, not to mention walking on the long bridgeway towards the main gate was so exciting, as if you walked on an open sea! Overall the Aquarium is not crowded. Bought Aqua Resort Pass to enjoy 4 areas in the aquarium (Aqua Museum, Fureai Lagoon, Umi Farm and Dolphin Fantasy). Special shout out ought to be the giant fish tank! One just cant resist not to stop by, standing and admiring the underwater dances. We enjoyed the trip very much as we didn’t bother to take slower steps in every segment. For seafood fans, you can have the freshest seafood meal by fishing it yourself and have it cooked here at Umi Farm. We are satisfied with almost everything here, except the gift shop is not that fancy. Overall, it might not be the best aquarium experience you’ve ever been but it is the one that you don’t want to miss out. Definitely coming back!

The sign says This one of the Top 3 illuminations. I didn’t see the others but this was pretty cool. And it was pretty cold so dress warm. We did the ski lift and Ferris wheel for some bonus lights and views.

Hakone Kowaki-en YUNESSUN Spa Resort has many kind of spas. You can have fun at this all-weather facility, even on rainy days. You'll find many fun spas here. And we have many kind of shops and restaurants that you can enjoy all day.
We spent 6 hours here and $150 covered parking, my suit rental, and lunch and entrance to swimsuit side for a family of 4. We adults loved the Mountain view pool with plenty of variety in temp and room for social distancing, the girls loved the water slide (volcano themed right now) and exploring the various pools inside and everyone enjoyed the foot pedicure for 100¥. Look at the hours and line up early, the line gets long. The food at the poolside food court was delicious and on par cost wise for Japan amusement activities with a variety of kid friendly and Japanese cuisine for all ages. Our girls are 8 and they loved it, we were not put off by any of the interior and didn't find things in poor repair like some reviews have indicated. They have also done some modifications for COVID with windows open everywhere possible to increase ventilation, a fan and open door in the cave, and distancing markers in the water slide line. The inside pool was crowded for sure but we felt safe outside and we're able to distance for soaking everywhere but the splash climbing structure
