***DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE*** TERRIBLE customer service. Have contacted them before the Covid pandemic asking for a refund. Did not receive it. Then Covid hit - asked MANY times via email for a refund. This trip was for 4 adults - for a cost of 476Euros. There have been so many emails - and they keep saying that a refund is in the works. First they said immediately, then they said 6 months. I cannot recommend this tour operator due to this blatant disrespect of their customers. I need these funds back. I was out of work for more than 8 months - and this is really unacceptable.
This is a site with many stories: I'll talk about a wide range of subjects including the stories of the women associated with this site, medieval personal hygiene, social status of mistresses, a very famous prisoner, historic graffiti and medieval weapons. My background is not art history, but collections care and the behind the scenes management of historic sites.
Inclusions: Private guide for your party

We traveled by train from Montparnasse Station to St Pierre des Corps, where we were met by Simon, Susan and Celestine, and whisked away to a lovely day visiting the chateaux at Cheverney and Chenonceau, with stops to view other beautiful sights along the way. I had no idea that in addition to including admission to each site, a three-course lunch with wine, and a winery visit and tasting, we were also going to be treated to a comprehensive and personalized guided tour through history by the very knowledgeable Susan, an art and history expert who wove our way directly to the most intriguing spots at each site and cheerfully tailored our visit to the things we were most interested in rather than drowning us in details such as, for example, the complete history of armour (which she is also fully capable of covering for those who like that sort of thing). At the end of our day we were escorted right to the correct track and car number for a stress-free ride back to Paris. All in all a unique and wonderful experience, with photos and memories that will be cherished and revisited for many years to come. Highly recommended, especially for history buffs with a strong aversion to slogging around foreign places like schoolchildren on a crowded bus tour.
This is a site with many stories: I'll talk about a wide range of subjects including womens history, mysterious graffiti, technological and scientific changes, peoples beliefs, dietary changes, garden history and what drove the economy when the chateau was built. Some powerful female characters have occupied this place - some of them you will have heard of, some will be new names for you. but all are fascinating. I'll cover a bit of modern history too - what happened here during the two World Wars. I'm very happy to tailor the presentation to clients interests. If there is interest I can cover medicine, engineering, textile manufacturing, transport and more, all of which can be demonstrated by elements of this magnificent site. But the lives and loves of the women who lived here will not be forgotten in all of this. Nor will the beautiful objects inside. My background is not art history, but collections care and the behind the scenes management of historic sites.

Our local guide (“small” Lawrence) was kind and knowledgeable, and logistics with her and the tour were seamless. Only recommendation would be to cut the wax museum visit (which comes at the end of the day) because by then, you’ve heard Therese’ story a lot and seen “real” sites so the wax museum seemed superfluous.
