Once one of ancient Greece’s most important cities, today Syracuse (Siracusa in Italian) is a lively town of about 125,000 on Sicily’s southeast coast. The city overflows with amazing remnants from its long history. Romans, Vandals and Normans are but a few of those who ruled here after the Greeks. In Syracuse’s harbor, Ortygia Island (also called Città Vecchia or Old City) is the site of many of the main attractions, including the seventh-century cathedral and the Fountain of Arethusa.

Incredible experience. Pasquale is a very nice and upbeat person. He took us to the best wineries. From the moment he picked us up it was clear that he had the entire day in perfect control. He is always professional and also fun. We really enjoyed the wine and food and the cellar tours. Pasquale even sent us several pictures from the day of fun that we had together. It was the highlight of our trip to Sicily. The communication was great - I asked Pasquale to arrange to have a cake for my girlfriend's birthday ... he made sure that at every destination there was a cake and everyone sang. He made me look like a hero! Thank you Pasquale!!!

We love Noto. This was our second visit however this time we went for the Christmas holidays. The weather was temperate and comfortable and the tourists were at a minimum. Good for us! It is such a charming and manageable town. We elected to stay right in town to minimize car travel and that was the best decision. Great restaurants and of course, Cafe Sicilia for almond granita. Easy side trips to Siracusa, Modica and Ragusa too.

Put your walkin' shoes on! We covered so much in such a short time! The old city of Syracuse-the Roman Amphitheater, the Greek theater (I even learned the difference between a theater and an amphitheater, which I never gave much thought and now I see it everywhere there is a Greek or roman ruin), the Ear of Dionysius: side bar: there was a lady with an incredible singing voice and she started singing inside the cave and the acoustics make you cry it is so beautiful. The waterfall at the top of the Theater is incredible. Letizia is full of knowledge, too much to put in a review. We then traipsed into Ortygia and saw the Temple of Apollo, the Piazza del Duomo, the Cathedral, the market and so much more. Letizia is great! She knows all the great places to eat, as she does a food tour as well. the best cannolo, chocolates, restaurants and let me add..where the restrooms are. Which is very important!!! I regret that I am not able to upload any pictures to this review!! Absolutely, no options, not even copy and paste!!! Way to drop the ball TripAdvisor!!

Grazie Letizia for taking me to all the best food places in Ortigia on this tour. I was grateful Letizia honoured the booking as my private guide as no one else had signed up that day. You will eat a ton of food and just getting to the front of the queue at Caseificio Borderi is worth the cost of the tour alone :) Don’t miss this tour!

2020 was a difficult year to travel, but if you can make it, it is all worth it! Given the various restrictions imposed on tourism during this period, Activity Sicily still delivered a rich and smooth programme: food was great, tours are interesting, hotels are comfortable and in great locations, and the cooking class is particularly fun. We focused on the food and wine aspects in this tour, the knowledge behind the food provided great insight into Sicilian people, history and culture. Massimo was hands-on all way through the tour to make sure everything went well, and all the guides are professional, knowledgable, and helped us to make the most of the trip during this difficult time. That said, the bonus is -- with hardly any tourists around, we really got to see the place as it is! Thanks Activity Sicily.
