Bear watching day tour in western tatras is probably most popular one. To see the brown bear in its territory is very exciting thing. High Tatras has many places where you can find them. But only us and our guides can take you there!!! After we pick you up at the hotel we will take you to our starting point or just meet you there. Please, be ready for a bit of walk through the valley. Hike takes 7km into the valley and 7km back same way. On todays trip we will visit bear locations and will observe it from safe distance. Minimum distance we met brown bear in tatra mountain in Slovakia was about 100 meters. Tatra mountain has more than 400 of brown bears and the population is still growing! Total number of brown bears in Slovakia is about 1000.

Prešov is the town with an interesting past and dynamic present and mixed Slovak, Polish, Ukrainian and Ruthenian population is the metropolis of the north-eastern Slovakia. Prešov is the centre of the Eastern District of the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession and the educational centre of the region. The buildings in the historic centre are parts of the Town Monument Reserve. The monuments of Prešov are concentrated into its historical core stretching around Hlavná ulica street, which widens into the spindle-shaped square. Its dominant is the parish church of St. Nicholas from the mid-14th century with a tall tower reconstructed in the Gothic style.

Discover Slovakia's breathtaking Tatra region from the treetops. Travel from Krakow to the treetop walk in Ždiar, a folk village with distinctive architecture and culture, situated in the very north of Slovakia around 10 kilometres from the Polish border. Enjoy a walk up-hill for 30 to 40 minutes to reach the unique treetop path, which is 18 to 24 meters high and is surrounded by magnificent tree crowns. This tour is an adventure for itself. Awesome company, landscape and profound expertise. Highly recommended! We got picked up early by Erik, our tour guide. He drove with us to a beautiful valley in the High Tatras, where we went for a hike amidst a beautiful landscape. We looked for bear tracks, bears, mountain goats and deers, chatted along our way and enjoyed being in the nature only by ourselves. Erik is a very sociable and easy-going person with lots of life experience. He shared with us his knowledge about the region and the bears and showed us his most promising sites for bear watching. Although seeing a bear is of course not guaranteed on such tours, we were lucky that Erik with his binocular and eagle eyes spotted a bear on the mountain. We were also eager to look for bears on our own, thereby spotting mountain goats and deers. Although this tour is about bear watching, my wife and I both agreed within the first hour of this day trip (i.e. before even having the chance of seeing a bear) that the tour was absolutely worth it. If you are curious about Erik and the bears: He appears in a freely available German TV documentary called "Sagenhaft - Die Hohen Tatras." It gives you a good impression about the region, about Erik's character and, most importantly, his sense of humour (keyword: bear poo). :-)
