With our selection of local food treats you can check off a lot of things on your Icelandic food bucket list, and you sure won’t be disappointed with the quality of the restaurants we handpicked as our partners. The Reykjavik food walk is also good to get oriented in the old Reykjavik city center. All our guides are graduates from the Icelandic Tourist guide school but more importantly, they know how to entertain as well as to educate. The only bad thing on this tour is the fermented shark, but hey, its an adventure and what does not kill you makes you stronger and cooler back home ;). One of the best things about doing a food tour is getting a sense of the history of the country while eating something delicious & exciting. You will also get tips on Food, Fun & Drink for the rest of our stay in Reykjavik so perfect as one of the first stops while in Reykjavik.

Inclusions: Be hungry as you will have plenty to eat, We will have an Icelandic drink of choice at the end of our tour

Most memorable experience out of my 8 days in Iceland! We were a party of 3 and our guide Katerina was simply the best! She was very knowledgeable about glaciers in and out of Iceland, very safety-conscious, and offered to take many excellent pictures. I left the tour feeling very grateful that I could get up close to the World’s third-biggest glacier that is not expected to exist in another 100-120 years. Being in such a small group also meant that we had plenty of opportunity to talk about many other topics and received a local’s insight to touring Iceland. Another bonus from the tour- joy ride over rough, undulating terrain leading up to the start of the glacier hike. Taking you further in than most others. The team behind Melrakki Adventures were quick to respond to our last-minute request to reschedule… twice! Thank you Katerina and team for the second-to-none experience.

We had a great tour with our guide Patrice. He offered good knowledge of the ice cave and also gave us a lot of freedom to roam and take pictures. The cave is wonderful and very colorful. The hike in the sun to get to the cave was very enjoyable and easy as well. We definitly recommend Local Guides and the Sapphire cave !

The distillery is small and well presented. You book through their website. Communication is good. You can access the distillery from Reykjavik either by taxi (expensive) or bus (number 1 drops off an easy 5 minute walk away). At the distillery you enter in to a small bar area with tables & seats where we were met with gins. The guide was welcoming and engaging. He talked about the distillery and the drinks, providing a sample of each (approx 9 in total). Started with gins, then aqua vitae and then the whiskies. Part way through we entered the distillery and toured round. The evening has a relaxed feel. It was very pleasant and interesting. It lasted for a couple of hours. If you like local and unique, and enjoy whisky (& gin) then a I recommend a visit to this distillery. A very pleasant evening.

Like Ralph Waldo Emerson once said. Do not go where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Agenda is as simple as 2 + 2 first we’ll warm up hiking to our farthest destination, before descending into each cave we start with stretching, then exploration time and be ready for some squats, push-ups and more stretching ! More effort you put into these exercises more you’ll see and oh boy take our word for it, there is plenty to see ! Depending on your fit level we’ll see anywhere between 2 to 4 caves. So you’ll get some cardio/ work out day for sure. We do caving often and we know there is nothing better than warm bath after half a day spent underground in humid and cool environment but than again bath sounds sooo boring. Unless you are in Iceland where you can just simply submerge yourself in a natural hot geothermal stream... Found in a beautiful valley up in the mountains, enjoining tasty Icelandic style hot dog prepared with a help of hot springs!

Inclusions: Coffee and/or Tea, Fresh Icelandic style hot-dogs made on the spot, WiFi on board, Shiny gift to remember about us once you leave the island, Helmets, crampons, headlamps, gloves

Experience the freedom of floating on a glacier lagoon gliding in between icebergs that come from Vatnajökull, Icelands largest glacier. The Glacier Kayaking Iceland tour leads you on a hike to a glacier lagoon, followed with kayaking between ancient glacier icebergs, and finish by paddling back down the river to where you started from! The kayak is an inflatable boat called a packraft. Our packrafts are single-person boats that are extremely buoyant as they are a pontoon-style design, which also means they are incredibly stable. Packrafts are easy to paddle and there is very little chance that novice users will tip out. Weighing under 10kg including your drysuit, paddle and PFD, all of this equipment is very portable and easily carried in a backpack. You will be issued all of this equipment at the beginning of the tour, and you will need to carry the equipment in the backpack to the glacier lake. The walk to the lake is 2km long and takes approximately 30-40 minuets.

Inclusions: Packraft (boat), Drysuit, PFD, Paddle, Backpack

Exclusions: Private transportation

Reykjavik Food & Wine Tour is without a doubt THE 5 star version of a tour for FUN loving foodies ! - In 4 - 5 hours you will experience "the best of" and our favourite of the cuisine in NIceland... while having a blast with a passionate local legend.  This tour does cost more than other food tours but like our fellow foodie put it : "The tour is not cheap, but given how expensive food and drink in Reykjavik can be and how much of both are given on this tour, we actually felt like it was a great bargain - and that's not even counting how much fun the company was. Seriously, DO THIS TOUR. You will not regret it." - We truly hope to be able to "meet and feed" you during your NIceland stay :)

Inclusions: Food tasting, Lunch (around 6 selected restaurant / bar stops), Wine tasting, Beer tasting (selected Icelandic locally brewed beers), Light refreshments, Fun loving passionate local guide sharing his / her "brutally honest" opinions on NIceland, Lunch, Snacks, Alcoholic Beverages, Tour ends between 5 and 6pm leaving guests with a FULL stomach :) and a BIG smile... and some red wine ;)
